31-40k Gaming & High Performance in a Budget

Hi,

I am looking to set up a new rig for myself which must allow me to do some gaming along with offering high performance (speed wise). Please see below my requirements and offer your expert advise.
  1. What is your budget?
    • 30-35K
  2. What is your existing hardware configuration (component name - component brand and model)
    • Keyboard + Mouse
  3. Which hardware will you be keeping (component name - component brand and model)
    • Keyboard + Mouse
  4. Which hardware component are you looking to buy (component name). If you have already decided on a configuration then please mention the (component brand and model) as well, this will help us in fine tuning your requirement.
    • CPU - Intel - i5 /AMD - R5 (whichever can offer best performance as per requirement)
    • Motherboard - any compatible motherboard
    • GPU - GTX 1060 (similar or higher // Suggestions welcome on a different GPU as well as i am not fixated on a particular GPU)
    • PSU - No pick please suggest
    • Monitor - No pick (At least 20")
    • RAM - 16 GB
    • SSD - 500 GB (Nvme)
  5. Is this going to be your final configuration or you would be adding/upgrading a component in near future. If yes then please mention when and which component
    • I want the build to last at least a year before there is a need to upgrade key components such as CPU/MOBO/GPU & possibly not all in one go.
  6. Where will you buy this hardware? (Online/City/TE Dealer)

  7. Would you consider buying a second hand hardware from the TE market
    • Yes - As long as its under warranty

    • Not really
  10. If you will be playing games then which type of games will you be playing?
    • Strategy - Hitman Series / MS Flight 2020

  11. What is your preferred monitor resolution for gaming and normal usage
    1. Fine with 720p // If 1080p fits the budget why not.
  12. Are you looking to overclock?
    • No
  13. Which operating system do you intend to use with this configuration?
    • Windows 10

you should get used products with 50% of price, but as NEW Products PRICES inflated by HW sellers, second hand product sellers expect upto 70%
 
Your requirements are not realistic at this budget. Even with used parts, you will struggle to get anywhere close to what you've outlined.

These don't include a monitor. You might be able to shave off 1-2k but I think you should consider an APU based build and add a graphics card later on.:-

Considering price inflation I’ve decided to wait until the Big Billion Days sale.

Further if you could just clear some of my confusions it would be wonderful.

1. Considering that I’ll mostly use the PC for E-Sports titles - FIFA mainly from gaming perspective. Would you recommend buying GTX 1060 or RX 570. Again i would want that my GPU lasts atleast 2 years without any problems.

2. Processor - i5 4th Gen vs R3 3100 (I’ve specifically mentioned i5 4th Gen because i might be able to get it for cheap alas used).

3. SSD - I want my build to be based purely on SSD considering this which is the best and most efficient type of SSD’s out there today? I have no clue of crucial’s SSD performance hence I’m contemplating this. I’ve read alot about how it should be M2 Nvme and stuff but for a fast functioning PC what should i be idealistically looking at without stretching the budget much.

1. Both are about equal, I picked the 570 because of the quality of the ASUS Strix card + the extra VRAM.

2. Factor in the total cost, i.e. CPU+Motherboard+RAM and the lack of warranty. 4th gen used DDR3, which is important to note. It might be worth considering if the deal is exceptionally good. Its not really comparable to the 3100 though.

3.Nvme SSDs are the fastest and most expensive, but without a specific workload to use that speed, they won't make much difference in a typical scenario, including gaming. SATA SSDs come in regular 2.5inch and m.2 form factors, which would be my primary recommendation. Crucial is an industry leader, second only to maybe Samsung.
