Gaming mouse, does it make a difference?

All this apart, hardware is not everything... I've seen kids using ball mice and wreaking havoc :) And IMO, you have to play a fast-paced game like Q3 CPMA or Q4 to realize how important (or not) a gaming-grade mouse is and how sensitivity/polling affect gameplay. I've played CS with my Logitech black and had fun, can't say the same for CPMA or Q4.

and there are people like Rave who will bamboozle you with the SPEED of their aims..... insane

STFU and dont lie to ppl...

@Rio

ofcoz, in the end it boils down to what you are comfortable with, that same kid with the ball mouse may or may not be as good with a high grade optical/laser mouse ;). i know ppl who handle a mouse better on a notebook than on a high grade mousepad, coz they like the feel of its, so just go by what you like and not what other think is great...

it wasn't gonna be a guide about mice... rather one which helps people in deciding if they want to spend so much money on them or not. so many people actually don't need a copperhead or g5 but they still go ahead and buy them because of reviews which call them the best.

I posted this in the guide thread: IMO, if a mouse does not work well out of the box (with drivers of course), it's not worth it at all Fortunately, my Razer has never required a complicated setup... just had to turn off accel ingame and set my sensitivity to make it work!
