July issue of Game Informer will reveal next installment of Gears of War. First art work shows a shadowy image of a character appears to be in a handcuffs suggesting the next game in the series could be possibly a prequel, detailing series protagonist Marcus Fenix's early days and eventual imprisonment

Game Informer notes that like its predecessors in the series, the upcoming title will be exclusive to the Xbox 360.

Another awesome thing is new Splinter Cell will be announced this E3 too :)

Time to change the name of the thread title. The naming ceremony is done and it's called; Gears of War: Judgment

New developments have unfolded regarding the new Gears game that is all the rage currently, revealing that it will be called Gears of War: Judgment. Two fresh pieces of artwork of the title are also out, while the game is expected to be officially announced at next week’s E3.

We had reported yesterday about the title being set to don the cover of Game Informer magazine’s July issue. Later in the day, this publication gave away the game’s name, and also went on to disclose two alternate covers for the same issue. As can be seen in the images, Damon Baird and Augustus ‘Cole Train’ Cole are both in the same shackled situation as the mystery man from the earlier cover.

We don’t know about Damon Baird, but Cole Train does look quite young in the image. Hence, our prediction of the game being a prequel to the trilogy might just turn out to be true. Meanwhile, speculation is also rife on just who might be developing this new title, given that Epic Games is currently involved with Fortnite. Rumors making the rounds point out that Bulletstorm developer People Can Fly is in some way involved in the process, if not entirely.

First Gears of War Judgement Story details:

Baird, Cole, Garron, and Sofia -- the four members of Gears of War: Judgment's Kilo Squad -- have been "charged for treason because they didn't follow orders, stole equipment, and their actions could end up killing millions of people they swore to protect," an anonymous source told IGN.

This is the premise of Judgment, and the crux of the trailer debuting at Microsoft's E3 press conference on Monday, June 4, where we'll learn officially that the next Gears of War is a prequel to the first game.

Baird and Cole look younger in Judgment because Kilo Squad was only around during the two years following Emergence Day, as far as the Gears of War novel Coalition's End is concerned. E-Day happened 14 years before the first Gears of War, which puts us more than a decade behind Epic's original Gears game, giving us the opportunity to watch their delightful relationship develop. It also leaves Judgment open to introduce a young Marcus Fenix before he gets thrown in the clink for desertion.

Two people new to the Gears canon join Baird and Cole, but we'll need to wait for Monday's E3 trailer to learn more about who they are, how they're connected to these guys, and what role they play in Kilo's treason.

Completed the game the Judgement it didnt have any vibes of Gears probably the weakest of Gears game.

I still have to play the Aftermath which is around 1.5 hour kinda DLC

How long is the 'judgement' gameplay?

btw, hearing pretty good things about Tomb Raider. ;-)

Judgement is around 5.5 hours and Aftermath around ~2 hours , Tomb Raider is way better than this
