Well this is one feature that I believe is going to be a killer feature as far as web-based e-mail security is concerned. Gmail will now list all the recent sessions with IP addresses.

It will allow users to check if their account has been accessed from some strange computers.

Also, Google will list details about sessions (if any) that are concurrent to your sessions and will even allow you to log out of them. Specifically useful as it will allow you to be aware of the fact that in your sleep you have blurted out your password to your girlfriend and now she keeps a tab on your mails and Gchat transcripts :P

For more please see:

How you can access this feature:

1- go to Details tab in footer and click it

Feature exists on many webmail apps....for quite some time. But none of them are as good as Gmail though. @Mail may be a bit close.

there's even an option of closing account sessions opened from other locations.

saw this on lifehacker rss feed yesterday :)

gr8 feature indeed seeing how my account was hacked into three months back:@ and my password was changed but was able to change back the password again.:hap2: hmm one more question wud it benefit the people who use the free POP access and automatic forwarding feature of gmail.

Killer feature for email 'security' would be *not* to put it in some 3rd party's hands in the first place ;)

there are a lot of experimental features also which you can enable in the settings menu.

try those out, some of them are pretty cool. There is one where you can play a game of snake
