@Quad, the safest exchange rate to use for calc is 48 - my purchases this year have all indicated an ROE of 47.xx.

@Kumar, once I place the order it will take 7 business days to reach me and 1-2 additional days to reach you.

About the paste drying up, well, the last 2 tubes of AS5 lasted about a year and they never dried up - they were always kept in my refrigerator :P

Why i asked abt the cost comming down as u will order so many tubes

you wont be paying shipping from US to India for every tube it will

be for the whole thing , so the cost per tube inclusive of shipping might

come down , thats why i asked.

I can make payments only on saturday.
 
^^ Even if it were to cost a measely $10 for shipping, thats $1 per tube, making it $6.95 in toto, which is Rs.319.7 @ Rs.46/$ or Rs.326.65 @ Rs.47/$.. :P

Rio has already mentioned shipping charges to anywhere in India (other than personal pick-up in Blr of course) is 50 bucks. So, in effect u r paying Rs.325 (already mentioned by Rio again).. So Rio is making a profit of Rs.5.3 per tube.. damn.. he said he isnt making any profit. liar liar.. :P
 
The cost per tube in my original post is based on me ordering 10 tubes - I will post a revised number when I stop receiving requests and get a revised shipping quote from sidewinder. I hope you understand there's no personal gain for me, only risk, and I'm doing this to help the community :)

Bear in mind that the shipping costs are minimal for packages under 7 lbs. Beyond that, shipping will increase significantly... that's just the way shipping fees are structured in the US. Anyway, no worries... I happen to know the guy who runs sidewinder and I trust he will do his best to keep the shipping cost low.

@Mask, my guess is average shipping cost per tube will be $0.50 but I'll know once I get an official quote from them tomorrow.

I have Artic Silver 2 as well as 3 and 5 ... I got my Artic Silver 2 about 10 years back and it is still fine to use. I store my Artic Silver tubes in a Plastic Tupperware box in a lower compartment of a fridge with the tip of the tubes pointing down - I read this in Artic Silvers pages - as pointing the tube down keeps the oils inside the tubes away from the tip.

I used the Artic Silver 2 recently on the Heat Sink of a GFX card and it was still in good condition.
