GO: Arctic Silver 5 (Rs.375 per 3.5gm tube)

Hey, are there any spares ones to go around? I'm planning to assemble my rig over this weekend and would need some quantity of as5. I'm located in Mumbai

In case if there are no spares, can any local member give me a small dab of as5 from their present stock? Mind you..I'm not asking it for free..I'm willing to pay for what I use :D Of course, I can buy it from prime at the exhorbitant price, but once I assemble my rig I don't intent to take it apart for quite some-time...so for me the remaining as5 would be wasted

I was getting restless since the shipment hasn't arrived and made a few calls, here's what I could find out:

1. Shipment arrived at Bangalore foreign post office on Oct 14 (ooo they also gave me a domestic tracking# - India is making progress lol)

2. They sent it to Chennai foreign post office on Oct 17 for assessment (customs, I suppose)

3. It normally takes 1 week for them to assess duty and send it back

4. I called the Air Complex in Chennai to check whether the package is with them and has been assessed - the head clerk is gone out for coffee and won't be back for 30 minutes :rofl:

Please understand this is the first time I'm using a shipping carrier other than Fedex so I'm new to the "standard operating procedure" of EMS+Indian customs :) Anyway, based on the info I managed to gather, it looks like the package should arrive next week...

I'm on vacation from tomorrow through Sunday, so any PM/emails will only be answered when I get back... don't want you guys to think that I ran away with your money :D
 
Rio... trust me on this... You dont need to update us on every little detail... It is Diwali Seasone and i am sure that everybody is busy with the festivities rather then sitting and counting seconds for AS5 to arrive... So enjoy the vacation and update everybody when the stuff arrives... No need to get hyper/tensions and all...
 
Thanks Switch/Saiyan, I normally would have done that but I keep getting status requests from a few and thought I'd update everyone before I disappear for a few days ;)
 
im not mentally prepared to open my pc's cabinet untill next month and that too after I get some iso-prophyl first :bleh: so enjoy your vacation pal :hap2:
 
^^ Whatever gave you that impression buddy :) but thanks for the concern anyway. Lets not get OT by getting into the nitti-gritties of applying AS5.

I should have some news today... it's been annoying trying to reach the head clerk of Chennai foreign post the last couple of days.

Hmm, something is causing this delay. Even I have been waiting for my Tuniq tower to get here. Its going to be nearly a month since it was shipped. This is just fcking crazy.

After many (repeat, many) calls I finally got through to the head clerk just now (who turned to be a dick btw). Anyway, to make a long story short, the package left their office on Oct 20 or 23 and it should reach me anytime. They couldn't say whether any duty was levied so let's see what happens when it arrives.

Karan, I'll email them again but Stefan clearly said the package cannot be tracked so putting pressure guarantees nothing (actually, it guarantees no response - ex, my last email to them).

dont worry our postal and custom dept sucks big time. bloody hell we dont have any proper indian channels.

i hope u receive this parcel fast..

Alright peeps, get ready for this... the Eagle has fookin landed!!! ;) And the best part, no duty was levied on the shipment heh... damn I'm good :rofl:

I'll be packing all your stuff tomorrow - if you haven't sent me your shipping address yet, please PM or email it by tonight.

P.S. Plus, this is my first non-Fedex shipment which worked out well, albeit taking 1 week more :D

Also, I haven't heard from 1 person... so the 12gm AS5 will be going to the first in line ;)
