Can a PS3 play PS2 games ,i.e, is it Backward Compatible.

Also will it play *ahem* version of PS2 or PS1 games (*ahem* version for PS3 are not available right!)?

Will it(PS3) play various Divx&mp4&X264 videos or will it have to be modded?

what kind of mods are available for PS3 ?

What's the use of 8mb card in PS2? Can a hard disk be added to it....

can a PS2 be converted to a downloading PC?

Let me tell you. PS3 modding has not been released till the time I posted this post... You can't play ANY KINDA *AHEM* games on it. You need to buy original... Ps3 60GB was backward compatible and PS3 40GB Isn't.

Hmm, really dumb hard question, That memory card in Ps2 is used to ongoing game checkpoints or your achievement. No Idea about HDD. No PS2 Can't be converted into Downloading PC as it doesn't have wifi or anything...

Only 2 models of the Playstation 3 have backward compatibility Viz. The 60GB & the 80GB version.The 80GB version has been discontinued out here.You'll need to have original PS2 games to be played on the PS3 even if you get the 60GB one.

Divx,H.264 & Mpeg 4 is supported by PS3.You have some video converter which allows you to convert your high definition files to be compatible with the PS3.

The 8MB memory card is Sony's accessory to save you game progress & to load them back at a later point.A HDD can be added but that requires a compatibe HDD & lots of patience.

As for the mods for PS3.NONE till now.

dude u dont need to worry abt games...there r millions of torrents on the internet of ps2 games just download ,,burn on a disc and play....no mods required!!!! cheers
