I am looking for a good expense tracker for using in my iPhone / iPad.
It should have Indian currency option and good and usual categories of things like we usually use like rent payment, utility bills, groceries etc.
Something which gives statistics for each month or specified time period would be good but not necessary.
If the app is free it would be great but I can consider paid options too if it is really worth.
Across device syncing of data would be good (between iPad and iPhone) but not necessary.
Any suggestions ?

I think I found a really good app. It is called Toshl Finance. It is free but has some pro features (paid) too. I am using the free features. Best part is it allows me to create tags on the fly when adding an expense. So I can have tags like Potatoes,Milk,Allen Solly Trouser and whatnot and best part is that it can give me the sum up as per the tag so I can know how much I spent on milk etc.

try moneywiz, a all in one pack that feeds the hungry.

And if you wanna try, check your money pro. Its currently free.

Offtopic: memento, the much acclaimed journal app is free right now. Dont miss this.

Ok I shall be trying the others mentioned here too. The one reason I am liking the Toshl Finance is that it allows me to create tags while entering the expenses and also later on search those tags when I enter new expense.
I am not into generalizing the expenses into limited categories like veggies, fruits etc but I specifically write what was bought.
Check this screenshot to see what I mean.
All the below you see are tags and I reuse those easily when I buy and write the same item again
