Thats some bad luck ...

was thinking of getting a ainol from MP4.. seeing this is their response.. will get something else.

This is a really sad thing to have happened. Also, this has scared me now, I think we should specifically ask the sellers not to undervalue our shipments, rather pay the duty than be stuck with something as this. AFAIK, most of the time the international sellers undervalue on their own, it is sort of implied, and especially so with the guys in HK.

Some people have mentioned that we should not accept the package if it appears tampered with, but with international packages most often than not they are opened at the customs and repacked, but of course they also have a red and black seal. Is it safe to assume that if there is a seal, the contents would not have been changed? Was there a seal in OP's case? Also, I was about to order something reasonably valuable for me from HK most probably this week, but that will be shipped via FedEx or UPS. Of course, I will be asking it to be declared at full value, but what are the chances of something like this happening with these couriers, has anybody heard of such a case with them?

^ Something like this happening with FedEX , DHL or private couriers is almost nil, they handle the customs clearance of the parcels personally.

^^ Exactly. If you use a service like DHL or FedEx that has tracking facility, your item will be safe. They get the stuff cleared from customs and then charge you along with their customs clearance service charges. The Tracking capabilities mean that you can easily check the status as well. But the problem is these services are costly and do not make sense unless the item in question is costly. If you need to use a free shipping option without tracking facility, then at least get it shipped to an office address. Customs guy's would at least hesitate pinching stuff going to company addresses.

the custom guys in india :@:
i do not understand, what have they got to do with this, guess it was from the origin itself & even Chinese tea is not that cheap, one needs to have it to replace it.

What do u mean Mp4Nation is simply saying no?
1) Did they not insure the package?
2) They are refusing to refund on what grounds?

MP4Nation folks are just not dependable. My EMS shipping paid parcel never reached me and returned back to them. Now they are demanding another 37 USD to ship it back. What for ? I've been staying at this address from last 3 years and have received numerous international packets. If they couldn't deliver, was it my fault ?

I am just so fed up with this MP4 shit. I would never think about getting anything from them and neither would I suggest anyone to even look at them. Those guys just don't give a damn and so will I.

Vashisht thanks for providing this feedback yaar. This service quality is totally unacceptable. Raise a Paypal dispute incase they fail to refund the entire cost. Ask them whats the reson for EMS to return the parcel! I am sure its a fault at their end. Most Likely incorrect address

As indicated earlier, the tea itself was from a on line store in US and the only people likely to have something like ready at hand are the customs guy's.

Well the best thing i can recommend is use better couriers next time. EMS/Speedpost are good for low value items, like games/books etc, and maybe cheaper electronics. Anything even slightly expensive is really not worth getting through them. Use DHL/TNT if possible, these guys are faster and a hell of a lot more reliable. But at the same time they will charge twice as much. Well that is the price you pay for the service. At least you guys are not worried about your packages being misplaced/altered mid-way.
