For Nook simple touch, you cannot buy ebooks from barnes and noble marketplace outside USA but with kindle you can. Just my 2 cent.

Well you can buy books from Kindle store and convert them to ePUB using Calibre and read them on Nook. Not only Kindle store, there are many other online stores which sell books in ePUB format.

Hey OP, don't want to steal your thread but i guess we had quite a discussion about nook too.
so, just a little info, my friend bought me a nook simple touch and will be getting it next month when he arrives.
