All OS Green line issue- Share your exp., thoughts and Rant!

It's their policy. Back panel needs to be removed for display replacement
Update: Got my back panel replaced for 3.8k, display was replaced free of charge (there was a tiny deep scratch on the display barely visible).
The lady next to me on the counter brought her OP10 Pro for green line issue but had a visible crack in the corner. Edit- She was quoted 24k btw. Forgot to add this part

Btw the display panel included the buttons and back panel included housing across the phone and it now looks brand new.

So if the screen is physically damaged it releases one plus from honouring the screen replacement for existing green line?

That's not fair. Hope she contested it.

24k for a screen + back panel is exorbitant

Crack or not is irrelevant.

Green line or not is the point

But they haven't mentioned clearly if phones bought pre 2024 yr are covered or is it that every odd phone irrespective of the age, era and model is covered.

Lifetime warranty: A bold commitment

In a first for the smartphone industry, OnePlus is extending a lifetime warranty against green line issues to all its models, old and new. This move ensures every OnePlus user enjoys peace of mind, reflecting the brand’s confidence in its product quality.

“With this step, we reaffirm our dedication to delivering a worry-free experience throughout the lifespan of our devices,” Liu added.
It appears OnePlus would accept devices bought pre-2024.
As for physical damage, any damage automatically voids the standard warranty of a device.
It seems it would be the OnePlus service center employees to ascertain whether to accept the device and offer a replacement screen.
In simple words: ALWAYS use a good protective case and apply screen protector.

S21 FE, bit the dust, purchased in Oct 2022. I pride myself on taking care of my electronics and it's a shame this has happened. Happened on New Year's day precisely. I am wondering if this issue would get worse as I plan on using it until 2026 at the very least.

Got a replacement screen free of cost by complaining to the Samsung Care.

The line comes only after a software update. Told them that the software update broke the display. This was in December.

Sold the phone after replacement, got a different one.
