Green Tea That Tastes Good? Am I Dreaming?

So, I've embarked on the great green tea journey for years now and was hoping to find a blend that doesn't taste like I'm drinking boiled grass clippings. (it's been...challenging. My taste buds are crying for help)
The reason is that I want to leave the habit of drinking normal milk tea and move to the better option.

I'm reaching out to see if anyone has discovered a green tea that actually tastes good. You know, something that makes you think, "Wow, I could drink this every day," instead of, "Is this a punishment?"

I've tried a few brands, ones which are normally available in market and also some exotic ones, which are not so popular but claims to be good in taste !

Please share your wisdom, fellow green tea adventurers! Is there a brand or type that stands out? Or am I destined to sip in sorrow forever?

I have a similar bad feeling about the taste of green tea.
Sometimes I wonder if this is really useful at all or just anecdotal about it's advantages.
I don't think it can help to leave the habit of drinking normal milk tea, but ymmv.

Anyway, to make the green tea taste better, sometimes (not all the time), I mix lemon and honey, and it really enhances the taste a lot. We can add pudina as well.
These things will just overpower the green tea taste and can help have it happily instead of feeling terrible for the actual taste of green tea.

So I drink green tea heavily during winters & This is something that I would get into once I have the time for this, I currently don't have much to share as I have haven't gone through the 'research' phase but I would 100% start with looking at Japanese green tea brands. So maybe you can look there if it fits the budget.

Helps if your water is soft.

If you made tea boiling Aquafina water vs your usual water. Do you taste a difference?

Moot point if your water already comes from RO

Why do you need to shift from milk tea to green tea?
I would suggest stop any form of tea altogether ...

Second advise would be to stick with green tea and develop the unique taste that it has (mostly astringent and slightly bitter).
If you think this advise is BS, then please understand that all kids hate the taste of alcoholic drinks, but start appreciating the flavors by the time they are in late 30s.

Had forayed in green tea a few years back but decided to switch to mild black tea instead, with some ginger and occasionally honey and/or lemon..
This doess the trick for me really, takes just 1 to 2 min to prepare and viola..

Good luck in your quest for the green variant..

I had taken this journey of having green tea while I was following the diet plan. Frankly I too didn't liked it at all initially but was committed to it. After 3-4 weeks having it daily 2 times. I acquired the taste for it. I did this for atleast a year 2019-20. Then due to medical reasons in family I was unable to follow my diet and dropped it altogether of having it. Need to start it again. Crux is try different varieties and stick to the one you can manage the taste. But dont have green tea on empty stomach.

Maybe try this one:

Twinings Darjeeling Green Whole Leaf Tea, 50 G, Loose Tea, Delicate Flavor, Mystical & Enchanting https://amzn.in/d/06lb4zZP

Flavor has also to do with the brewing method.

I use sugar with tea and this one felt decent but I like black Darjeeling better.

You can look into gongfu tea brewing

Also it is said that brewing temperature should be lower with green tea compared to black.

Use mint flavor which may help a bit. You may also find other similar flavors. Lemon and honey also is good, some say honey in hot water is not good for health, don't know.
Green tea and many food items develops acquired taste, it will take some time.
For me now normal-to-excess sugar is milk tea causes nausea. And milk tea with very little sugar gives an enhanced taste.

After reading the thread, I'm kinda surprised to find so many people don't like the bitter / 'kauda' taste of green tea?? Is something wrong with me cause I literally have zero issues drinking it & love the bitter taste. There are some variants that I still don't like but the overall taste of green tea is something I can look forward too during my day lol

any specific brands. Or are you ok with green tea taste in general. Maybe the only ones we tried are those variants you didnt like?

no specific brands, super generic ones we get in any store, altho lipton is weak for me so people who don't like green tea taste can try that one as its less bitter? I am not just ok but I like the green tea taste in general

Try Patnajlai Divya Pey, can add milk too. Good Taste
Will try. Thanks!

I am trying to go Vegan and thats why dont want to use honey or milk.
Mixing lemon is fine but its not always available (in office I am talking).

Most of the green teas available in supermarkets are trash. You will have to find a specialist tea store in your city to get something good.

In Bangalore, we have Infinitea. Check if sancha has an outlet in your city. They let you sample their teas before buying.

I remember buying their earl grey green tea a while ago. Loved it. Plain unflavored green tea is not for everyone.

Sadly I couldn't go for green tea when the alternate was coffee.
Anyway, I would believe coffee has better advantages than green tea, meanwhile green tea has particular anti-oxidant benefits, but not really compulsory to consume, is what I understood from few articles. cmiiw.

You are making me feel good for choosing coffee though the real reason for choosing coffee was Taste
