@ anish : afaik.. that usually comes when the card is overheated. I used to get those artifacts on 8800GT. It used to precisely come when my card touched 79-94 degrees.
 
ok..more probs..
updated via the offline link posted here earlier...
now..buttons seem to have become xbox style...it says press A instead of press Enter
also, the camera goes to niko's feet automatically!
bring it bak to normal with mouse..leave it...and back to the feet!

can neone tell me how to remove the update??
 
Look / Spin / Stuck Key issue:

Title Update 12/12/08

With the latest Title Update, some users are experiencing a Look/Spin/Stuck Key issue that interferes with user input. The temporary fix, described below, will restore Keyboard/Mouse and XInput (360) controller functionality. Support for DirectInput devices is currently limited. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

To fix the issue:

A1) Unplug any DirectInput controllers (gamepads, joysticks etc..)

A2) Reboot your computer

A3) Launch GTA IV

If the issue persists, the following instructions are provided as a guide to assist you in deleting the conflicting DirectInput drivers:

B1) Exit game

B2) Go to Start->Control Panel->System->Hardware Tab->Device Manager->Human Interface Devices

B3) Locate drivers for devices

B4) Delete drivers for devices

B5) Launch GTA IV

**Some users are able to reinstall the drivers for their DirectInput devices, with the device attached, and have found that it will work in game. If you do attempt to reinstall your device and the problem resurfaces, please follow steps B1-B5 again.

Anyways I solved the issue. It was a specific problem caused on Sapphire HD4870 512MB only.

Issue is solved by a vBIOS flash from Sapphire. More info found here:

Thanx for the tip mate, updating my BIOS now....but how long did it take in ur case? here, its been over 45 minutes and still flashing :@ btw, since my card is in the bottom slot, i used the -p 1 switch rather than the -p 0
as said in the article.
 
hey guys .i have a problem joining the games for windows live....cause when it starts to update the game freezes.....i have already downloaded & manually installed the patch.....but i still cant play multiplayer???.....plz help.

Are you connected to Winows Live (Online) , you have to create a online profile to play multiplayer.Check with your firewall etc.

Mine works perfectly , online in GTA 4 rocks. :D

Erm you should've just put it in the upper slot. I took my hardly 5 seconds..
 
Hi guys. I installed winxp sp3 yesterday to run GTA4 but ever since i installed SP3, the system has been locking up. Can go online with no issues but when i try to run any game or run itunes or some other random tasks, the system stops responding and the only way is to reset the system. Tried reinstalling the video drivers and also tried disabling the startup & non MS services and programs running msconfig, no go. Itunes seems to work in safe mode i mean atleast the itunes window comes up while in the normal mode, the system hangs while trying to open the itunes window. Frustrated, tried system restore and went back to the point before installing SP3. Evrything is fine now but wats the solution coz i need SP3 to run GTA4. Pls help. Srry for the long post.....
 
Its mostly Windows Live or R* Games Social Club apps which are causing lockups. My system locks up randomly too, but only after i am out of the game. It comes back after 5-10 minutes. Doesn't lock up again if i kill the RSGC.exe app from the task manager.
 
can someone temme how to go online on gta 4 please whenver i go online there arent any players except one or two how do i get many players

HaiCartmen has completed the game and plays multiplayer whole day ...he hosts most of the time

can somebody help me on using the mini image of GTA 4???

i mounted it via deamon tools and used Y.A.S.U to cloak the virtual drive , but its not working..............

i have created a social club account and verified the account but when i try to loggin it says wrong username or password, i recovered the password and tried again. still cannot loggin...................:(

can somebody help me on this too........

I don't want my orig disc1 to be scratched,
Does using mini image / daemon tools cause any issues in the game
 
^^ Yup, you can use SecuRom Launcher.. Google it, you'll get it.. it's probably illegal to post here...
