guys CBS coming to india

just saw the hoarding ( american flag) that says cbs is coming to india, now we can watch all the shows ( big bang, two and half men) and many more live!!!!!

FYI: reliance big has done a partnership deal with cbs and it will be called big cbs

is this the future of television, maybe on your dth ur will see two buttons (angrezi, desi) click angrezi and u will get all tv channels, fox,fx,cbs,nbc in the future
 
somehow i now feel downloading them is better.:bleh:
no breaks,no ads and view them (those series) as and when you like
 
Even when these channels come to India, I'm not sure we could get to see the TV series 'live'. I read somewhere that Brits are a season behind and when they launch these channels here, I'm sure they won't start off with the current season that's being aired across US.

{besides it makes no sense to start showing TBBT for example from S04E10 or something..they have to start from S01E01 :P }

this was what you wrote earlier . in fact both of the channels mentioned by me are available in US and many other countries . Visit the "In-Depth " section of the website, the author and source is mentioned at the last of the page in bold (most of the time they are reputable western writers ) When the Taliban calls, pick up - Opinion - Al Jazeera English eg . The author of this story is" Danny Schechter wrote When News Lies (2006) about media complicity and the war in Iraq. His film WMD (Weapons of Mass Deception) covered that coverage. "

in case you read news online and are interested in intl news/affairs , subscribe the rss feeds of al-jazeera english along with the your favourite news (taliban tv,etc) and you will see the difference

I personally feel Al jazeea is a great news source. My problem is with Peace TV and more importantly with Zakir Naik. What he does in pretext of spreading peace is something I personally feel offensive.
 
well i remember those days back in 95-96 when Sony & Star networks were launched in India, both channels used to air xcellent shows like I dream of jeanie, 3 stooges, small wonder & many more, but now none of the shows r worth watching, espicially sony with 16hrs of CID Dose, 1.5hr KBC(that to for limited period) & some more CID crap for rest of the day, Star plus getting Saas-Bahu Syndrome (atleast better than CID crap but i still hate watching Star plus)

JUST HOPE THAT CBS Network does not get that BUG that destroyed Sony & Star's image...

Do you have any articles that identify with your opinion here ?

Why is it any different to say the GOD channel.

Every channel has its own spin at the creator's discretion.

Its very difficult to say you can have this but not that because the criteria most of the time is very arbitrary. Does not stop us doing it but the downside is there is no rational basis for it either way.

My post earlier in the thread clearly mentions my opinion on such channels. God, Peace Tv, or any other channel denouncing other religion clearly is a propaganda channel and is pointless. These channels exist to brainwash impressionable young minds.

Overall I would hope that all religious channels are banned, but we both know its not going to happen. Hence, I wish for the next best thing, that the people make a choice of not watching such BS.
