Haleem

Any place in NCR/Delhi to try this delicacy. I think there might be a couple of places in the Jama Masjid/Darya Ganj area, but a heads up of the places that serve good quality Haleem would be appreciated.

Pista House Haleem can be bought from Total Superstore present at Doddanakundi, Opp. EMC2 , Marathalli Ring Road.

Price/Box - 125/-
 
^^ Agreed. They seem to add in a lot of bones to increase the weight. I bought a box couple of days back and I can say for sure that at least 1/2 to 2/3 of the weight is contributed by bones. What is worse is that the smaller bone splinters (which are from very hard bones) can actually cause problems if ingested by accident.
 
Just had two haleems today:ashamed: one pista house and another local. frankly, pista house haleem is way too spicy and had lots of bones. local haleem was much better. I think I am gonna explode.
 
Those guys who are looking for Haleemin Delhi try Jawahar in old Delhi adjacent to Karim's as they make much better than Karim or try at Sab ki Khatir at Golf Link road.

2 places in South Mumbai where you can get Haleem
1. Mohd ali Road. (1st preference)
2. Bhendi Bazaar (Bohri Mohalla)


Best time to go is right now till 20th August as Ramdhan is going. You will get much more items to eat.
Both place can be visited as they are 15 min walkable distance.
Time - go after 7.30 pm till 5 am as fast is broken and shops will be in full swing

Beware - Lots of traffic, chaos, pick pocketers and mobile theft. No car/bike parking available.

If you are a non vegetarian then this is ur place. enjoy.

Let me know if you have any doubts as I stay very close to these place.
 
One more place for Haleem in Bangalore.

Place - 4 Seasons restaurant, Indiaranagar 100 ft road, Next to KTM show room.

Courtesy : A friend from hyderabad who visited this place last year.
 
In kashmiri we call it Harissa. This is our favourite dish during the winter months and is relished at breakfast with specially made kashmiri Roti. :)

Any idea how good was it? I mean I am planning to visit one place in bangalore to eat haleem...and am deciding that place...would that be 4 seasons?

thanks for the info mate.i knew about mohd ali road but as u said the chaos,traffic has always stopped me. But will definitely go this time :)
is there any particular shop in mohd ali road or any shop in that road will do?? any famous shops? and what other food items are famous? :D :)
