Err.. Would it be possible to get a camcorder for around 10-15k (would be purchased from Singapore)?

A fairly basic model would do.. But the best possible in that price range. Mini-DV would also do..

Why don't you get a GS300? (You can get if for 20-25k) As rohit told, you can also try a Sony hc96, if you don't worry about 3CCD, OIS & Mic i/p. Sony uses a Single 1/3" CCD where GS300 has Three 1/6" CCDs. So Sony will be good for indoor and Pana will do better day light.

For 10-15k, I am sorry....

I was afraid of that Always felt that budget was too low for a decent camcorder. But since the intention was to gift it to someone cant really stretch that budget. Guess will have to look for something else..

But before that, I just wanna know whether the following are any good. I checked the link yogi1771 had posted and these fit the budget. Will be researching them individually but would be grateful for your comments..

@Vulc4n you can try out some of the entry level JVC or a Sony HC28 but mind you the picture quality or rather the colour depth will not be very great and also all entry level camcorders use 1/6 single CCD so indoor video will be bit grainy.
