Has TrueCaller changed ?

Just noticed that now it no longer uploads the user contacts to its server, which was not the case earlier !
It was a privacy nightmare where user's contacts are uploaded on their server but with this new policy, is it now fine to use it without any privacy issues?

Full policy is available here:

They stopped uploading the complete contact list after several breaches. However, they still collect all possible metadata for each call and also link it with social media accounts like WhatsApp if you choose it. Basically instead of the contact list, they rely on the name you use when you register with them or the names others use when reporting a number.

I use it now only because I am on iOS where data is shared only for manual lookup, to mainly identify spam calls. Due to this policy, I found that non-spam call identification is usually not great, which includes my own number which I registered with a meaningless name. However, others do receive a "you may know this person" phrase with that meaningless name, implying they use metadata to link numbers together.

They sell metadata to make profit & most of the features are only available in premium version.

Their policy clearly doesn't state if your data is secure enough & sms msgs are also tracked

Assuming data gathered will only be from Samsung ecosystem. Then of no use.
Truecaller supports all android/apple hence maximum numbers db.
i have both Samsung and Pixel devices . Both have no 3 party call blocking /Truecaller App but only native Apps
No calls are blocked till I block them but all Junk/SPAM are shown as JUNK in dialer when received

I'm using SpamBlocker (Call & SMS) from F-Droid for the last two weeks.

It works alright, some spam calls still pass through it tho but better than not having any blocker.
