Hi guys,

My Seagate 7200.8 HDD is showing this in speed fan:

Am I in trouble? Can some of u with similar drivers (Seagate) post SpeedFan screen shots? I have a bad feeling about this.

Regards,

Karan

everytime i switch my comp off (shutdown, either via software or power button) there is a very audible click which comes from the seagate hdd. i had never given it much attention uptill now. i had errors like this recently:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Disk
Event Category: None
Event ID: 11
Date: 2/6/2006
Time: 4:20:10 PM
User: N/A
Computer: ZOOTES
Description:
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk0\DR0.

these things are scaring me as that HDD has some very critical data. i think i am gonna RMA it just for safety. will try and get some other brand drive. hitachi maybe.

also another strange error:

- i unplug the sata cable from the seagate drive (which is just data) and let the system boot, it boots up in 4 secs (raid-0 magic.)

- but i plug it back and i try to boot, it takes over 20 secs to boot. ne idea whats going on?

try changing the data cable, googling this error shows that its quite often due to faulty data cables
