In my defensive.....these buggers kept "Accidentally" changing the track making me forget what i last heard. Memory plays a part in remembering what you last heard.

In their defensive all i would say is one word..............Accidentally!!! :P

Of course the AKG will be better. But IMO the RE1 when properly amped can give bigger sized cans a run for their money especially in soundstage and midrange performance. The RE1s are startingly close to my HD650s midrange performance while having maybe a notch lower resolving power. And the RE1s have a better soundstage width than the HD650. :)

Also if you move up to custom IEMs, you may find several that can compete and perhaps even beat the AKG K702 in performance. Also most IEMs dont require an amp to sound great.

If you move the top tier IEMs like the JH Audio JH-16/JH-13, they can compete with top tier cans like the HD800/T1 etc.

have u ever tried ur hd650 with dv amps

I have heard a lot about akg 702

if i come to mumbai in near future i will surely visit pristine note

hope he doesnt charge per minute for listening to thm
 
...lol...i doubt he will charge you for demo ....go with faheem ( i read he lives close by ...then again i read he is moving ) ....faheem knows the pristine note guy pretty well

I don't have a clue about who you are referring to ? :(

@op - I use the Re1s with an Audio-GD Compass DAC+amp. However the RE1s don't scale much with better equipment but the HD650's do. So maybe with a much better amp and DAC the differences will be more.
 
the problem with HP is to buy an amp tht has gud synergy wth it

you get a 400$ HP and u end in spending twice the amount in DAC/AMP

Moreover, we dnt have much option in india

and high custom on imports

I dnt know whn we will see custom iems in india
 
HF-2 are discontinued if i'm not mistaken. You'd only get one on head-fi on the FS section. You can prolly get an RS1i / RS2i for that price.

Personally i would rather go for a Gs1000i rather than a PS1000 or even a HD800 for that matter.

Guess i'll have to get a DAC worth that much and a SACD player / 24bit Flacs to do justice to the detailing it could render.
 
HD800 is a monster tht requires money and quality power amp

i cant think of it evn

i wud go for he5le instead of hd800

HD 800 are great ....everytime i read abotu them they seem to be made especially for me ....they are complete....

about the amp talk i'll probably have some beefy amps to use them with because of my poor hungry AKGs

rest assured the HD800 will be my past$1000 purchase ( ....if i do not buy second hand .....i doubt there will ever be a discount on them)
