help about WIFI Network setup

There is a very beautiful tutorial on Wi-Fi network setup.

But, my question is - what are the physical limitation for Wi-Fi setup.
Like - in eairly wireless solutions the limitations were like -

• signal can't pass thorugh full glass room
• signal loss even by wood partations
• etc.

Pls, post your experience....
