Hello guys
please help me out
i've gigabyte p55 usb3 mobo and intel corei5 750@2.67GHZ running on it
presently using msi9600GT on my system
want to upgrade my gfx card as my mobo supports crossfire (budget 25k max)
need suggestion:)

You could dual 6870s since a price drops are coming for this series,or get a single 6970,but i would w8 for the price drops on 6870 and then CF them.

well..thx mate..but i heard that my gigabyte p55 usb3 doesn't support cf very well (from reviews)

"One other point we need to mention about the P55-USB3 is CrossFire support. While the board technically does support ATI’s CrossFire multi-GPU technology, keep in mind that the secondary PCI Express graphics slot only supports 4-lane PCIe operation. More expensive P55 motherboards with CrossFire/SLI support split 16 PCIe 2.0 lanes evenly, with 8 lanes for each graphics slot. This ensures optimal 3D performance."

one thing also can i use two different card in CF

your power supply will not have enough juice for CF setup.. you will need a good 750 watt PSU atleast..

Yes you can, although it is not recommended. there is a compatibility chart on the amd website. the card with the higher specs will be bottlenecked to the card with the lower specs..
preferably go for the same GPU's for CF.. radeon 6850 or radeon 6870 CF is a great setup.. and as joel said, wait for a price drop in the 6870's..

1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16) (Note 2) (The PCIEX16 slot conforms to PCI Express 2.0 standard.)
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4 (PCIEX4_X1) (Note 3)

GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1156 - GA-P55-USB3 (rev. 2.0)

Your mobo is not great for CrossFire. But why do you need one :S
You Power supply is not great too.
I would suggest the following upgrades to your system.

HIS AMD HD6950 1GB GDDR5 - 14.5k or MSI Nvidia GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozer II 1GB GDDR5 - 15.4k
Corsair VX550 - 4.8k

This setup would be enough for gamin @Full HD IMHO. In case you are planning a CPU/Mobo upgrade in future and might XFire in the future then consider a 750w PSU.

I would suggest something modular like the Corsair HX750 - 8.5k

Also consider getting a decent CPU cooler and pushing the i5 750 to ~3.3-3.5 GHz

PSU- EXTREME POWER 500
First thing change your PSU + stop thinking about Crossfire until you really want to Overclock your system (because the processor puts a cap on the frame-rate), for this you need a new HSF (atleast a Cooler Master Hyper 212+) and after that you need to burn a further hole in your pocket for the CrossFireX setup (which again we need to know your board model number like Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3R/UD5/UD4) + will you game on resolutions above 1920x 1080 (if not there is no need for a dual card set-up), all in all an investment of atleast ~ 25K can go till ~ 35K

If your board is incompatible than you need a new board too, a better investment would be as DarkAngel said a Corsair VX 550 + nVidia GTX 560 Ti or AMD HD 6950 1 GB version depending on your brand preference.

thx..

it means will have to change whole setup for CF...ing my system

better ill go for HIS AMD HD6950 1GB GDDR5

getting from US arond 11k or

suggest me any other option strictly under 15 k

..cos i have to upgrade whole setup in future.. :(

--No

I've samsung P2350 monitor

I think i should save money and go for gfx card only..

^^

If you get the card from US you'll face RMA and other issues here in case your card conks out. If you plan to upgrade system within two-three months then don't buy anything currently overhaul system completely at that time, it will transalate to much better VFM.

First get rid of your crap PSU then think of a graphics card. Buy corsair VX550 and HIS HD6950 2GB [Unlockable to 6970] :)

Fair enough. That's a decent power supply. Has a 5 year warranty as well.

Corsair 850TX is very decent power supply, it can easily handle high end graphic cards in SLi/Crossfire and is a good investment for future. CM EPP 500W isn't recommended for High end cards.

Cooler Master eXtreme 500 W could deliver 500 W, however power isn’t everything. Efficiency was above 80% only when we pulled between 40% and 60% (200 W – 300 W) from the power supply nominal maximum power, and when we pulled its full power efficiency was at the 73% range, which is really bad.

HIS AMD HD6950 1GB GDDR5 - 14.5k or MSI Nvidia GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozer II 1GB GDDR5 - 15.4k

Actually getting confused ..both at almost same price @newegg

Newegg.com - MSI N560GTX-TI Twin Frozr II/OC GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Newegg.com - HIS H695FN1G2M Radeon HD 6950 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity

which one should i consider...keeping an upgrade in mind

always used nvidia cards.. :)

If its between those 2 then 6950 1gb.. i would still suggest you to go for the 2GB 6950.. since the current stock is unlockable to a Radeon 6970..

but these cards ar pci exp. 2.1 cards..will it be compatible with my motherboard?
