Video Help evaluate Mi TV reliability

I've bought about a dozen Mi TVs since 2018, both for home and for relatives and friends. Out of those, two of them had the backlight fail - one of them after about 15 months and the other after 4 years.

I'd like your help in re-evaluating the reliability of Mi TVs. Is this failure rate unusually high? How often have you known about backlight failures in other brands (not necessarily your own)?

Please note that this is only about the backlight, not about picture quality and other features.

My 32" MiTv failed after 18 months or so. Later I bought an LG TV with 5 year extended warranty and a Sony with a year warranty. I will never go back to Chinese TVs again.

Thanks for the input. Was it the backlight or something else?

To be fair, other brands do fail too. One of my former students in electronics was head of Sony service center for more than 20 years (he's now retired). They always had their hands full with failed Sony products, most of which were TVs.

I've not seen many Samsung TVs but the ones I've seen, all had backlight issues. All. And it was the same type of backlight issue of uneven brightness with some bright patches.

Have had a few in my family for 5 years. None failed but they are showing their age with often the tv taking too much time to boot and in general other slowness.
