One small doubt though, apart from power consumption, how is the i5 Sandybridge better than the current i5. Being out of touch with technology really sucks >_<

And... The i5 SandyBridge seems to come with integrated graphics. That means, if the Radeon Card conks out, I can always use the integrated gpu in the proc as backup till I get my Radeon fixed right ?

If u dont OC then u can get the i5 2400 @ 9.9k and if u will OC then u can get the i5 2500K. Should be priced @10.7k-11k IMO. Its clocked at 3.3Ghz and will have a unlocked Multiplier too :D

Oops.. My bad, It's the i5- 2500 that i should have been suggesting... i5 2500 outperforms the i5 760 by about 20~25% (That generous coz' in a few tests beat the i5 760 by a 35 % margin)... Also i5 2500 and upwards have better IGP,Intel HD 200 compared to rest which have Intel HD 100..
 
Thank you everyone for your advice! I apologize for replying so late because for the past 3 weeks I was down and out with high fever, bad throat infection which was followed up by lots of coughing and wheezing attacks. Anyway, I am planning to upgrade my system in a few weeks and based on the advice that I got in this thread, I have finalized what I want to buy.

I have also upped my budget from 60k to 50k with the addition of a new smps and cabinet.

Summing it all up, it totally comes to Rs. 62000. I chose 2400 because I am not really keen on overclocking anyway. And 6 months down the line, I am planning to crossfire by buying a new Radeon 6870 (which hopefully should become cheaper) and that's the reason I going for a new 750W smps.

So, what do you guys think?

The P55-GD65 will not support the new processor LGA 1156 on LGA 1155 socket. LGA 1156 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia /

So you'll need to buy a completely new motherboard which will cost you around ~ 7K --- 13K Intel® Desktop Board DH67CL ATX , Socket 1155 - www.deltapage.com

and the new LGA 1155 socket does not support CrossFireX or SLi until its PCi-Express bandwidth is halved to 2x 8 PCi-E lanes from 1x 16 PCi-E lane which can cause performance to drop.
 
Ah damn.. Then I guess I have to wait till a good motherboard comes out or forget about CrossfireX (I am in half a mind to ditch the whole crossfireX idea).... :(

I apologize for creating multiple threads, my friend wants to buy a new monitor 23/24 inches LED or LCD with HDMI compatibility as he wants to hook up his new PS3 to it. What's the best one out there for a budget of 12k? Thanks in advance. ^_^
 
For a 12K to 13K budget the best monitor you can get is the BenQ G2420HD or the Dell Ultrasharp U2311H. < The Dell doesn't have HDMI >

MSI P67A-GD55 is a great board... it supports CFX & SLI too... :)... actually it is MSI P67A-GD65 with two less Sata3 ports... and it doesn't have heatpipe :)... other than that it has everything which high end boards usually comes with...

Is not having a heatpipe a bad thing ?
 
Anyways you are not gonna get the 'K' version and OC the proccy. The non-'K' OC is almost nil. So u can even go with a H67 mobo for ~6.5k.

P-67 only if you need CrossFire/SLI support.
 
I agree wid DA... Go wid the board that i suggested only if u r gonna crossfire in the future... :D

As u've increased ur budget from 50 to 60k... heres a new rig suggestion for u... :D

i5 750/760 gets very hot on full load thats y i suggested u to buy an OEM cooler... i dont know about the newly launched 25xx processors :)... IMO dont buy an OEM cooler now buy it if the temperature of i5 2400 will go beyond 72c on stock HSF...

Yup.
No Xfire & OC then H67 with i5 2400/ i5 2500.
If you need XFire then P67. If u need XFire and OC then P67 and i5 2500K.

I was wondering because the Intel board priced at 6500Rs, the Intel DH67CL doesn't seem to support more than DDR3 1333

Avoid that Intel mobo. That doesnt even have all solid capacitors.

SB officially supports upto 1333MHz RAM speed only. If you use a 1600MHz RAM it will work at 1333MHz by default. You will have to change settings in the bios for it to work @ 1600MHz

If u need a H-67 then i would suggest the P8H67-M LE ~ 6.5k (Though it has only 2 DIMM slots u can get a 4GB XMS3 1600MHz single stick for 2.4k now :D)
 
Can i ask u why did u drop the crossfire idea? See if u r willing to spend 60k then the rig that i suggested is great... Plus if ur going wid the H67 mobo + HD6870 then i wud suggest u to buy VX550... Coz S12D is really overkill IMO... I suggested u this PSU coz earlier u said that u will crossfire in the future but if u r not gonna crossfire then its really not worth to spend so much money on a 750w PSU... Buy VX550 or S12II 520w... these PSUs can easily handle the above suggested rig...

I will keep that in mind since a friend of mine wants to upgrade but doesn't want to crossfire. I will most probably suggest the non-crossfire rig to him.

Initially I was under the impression that there wasn't a affordable sandybridge mobo with crossfire support. But after I saw your suggestion, I have decided to crossfire. So thanks for the rig suggestion :) Ofcourse the non-crossfire suggestion is also useful for me since my friend is also upgrading but he is not going to crossfire.
