Here is how things stack up -

My System is HP Pavilion dx2480 Microtower PC with Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 2.93 Ghz, 2GB DDR2 RAM, 500 GB HDD and 300 Watts power supply. .

It has a dedicated slot for graphics card. Please have a look at the picture I am attaching (notice the Narmada motherboard.

I am looking for a low budget graphics card from which I can play games like F1 2011, Ashes 2009 and so on. I am not a high end gamer type of person.

I have shortlisted following models from flipkart -> Please guide me which one is best of the lot and whether it is compatible with my system or not. Is 300 watt power supply enough for the low end car which I am looking for. The system is stock with just a 2.5" 120GB HDD added as extra thing to my system.

Go for the AMD 5450 DDR3. But then all of the above cards come with 64-bit memory bus so don't have high expectations :-)

will I be able to run games like F1 2011 and equivalents?

will I be able to run games like F1 2011 and equivalents?

what about power supply? I mean that is there a cable coming from PSU for powering the GPU or low end GPU don't require power from PSU?

Will AMD 5450 JUST REQUIRE TO BE installed in pcie slot or is there any wire which i need to connect to gpu?

Those low end GPU's dont need external power connector from PSU, they are powered by the PCIE slot only.

I would like to know what is the max resolution of your monitor..??

Dont keep high expectations from a low end gpu to run all games without some lag.... But yes, formula 1 and ashes would run fine on this card... Do not game with this cards for long time, play after some intervals...

Try if you can extend the budget to 4k, you can get a 5670 512mb card instead... Even some shopkeepers sell second hand 5670's at 3.5k too... You can put up a WTB thread on TE too

resolution is 1368 by 768. but even ge210 has 1 gb memory then still why it is considered as low end? are there any other parameters which decide on gpu performance.

Graphics Memory plays an important role when a large chunk of data needs to be buffered for the graphics card which takes place mostly at higher resolutions... But most important parameters like Memory Bus width, No.of Stream processors,Texture units,Pixel fill rate, Transistor count, Clocks(core/memory) decide the ability that a GFX card has. So a gfx card having 1gb of memory and has low count in all other parameters is termed as low end gfx card, such cards arent capable of churning out playable frame rates in graphics demanding games at medium/higher resolution or med/high settings.

The resolution which you have mentioned is certainly high for a 2k gfx card. But as you arent a serious gamer you might get satisfied with it.

Mate but it is expensive @ 3940 INR and my budget is only 2000!

Then, I'd suggest you to wait 1 month and increase your budget to Rs 4000. After all, these are long time investments for you and you won't be upgrading your system for years.

Still its your call. IMO i might never get satisfied HD 5450 at all even for a moment, whereas HD 5670 will bring a smile on your face as soon as you plug it and play
<

@OP, if you cant increase your budget then just go for it :-)

Or you can have a look at our second-hand TE market and buy a card that's suitable(for your 300W PSU)

ok guys going with your suggestion if i increase my budget then will AMD HD 5670 work on my 300 watts power supply? also please have a look at my motherboard in first post and see if it is compatible with my mobo.? is HD 5670 reqquire external power from psu?

I have already mentioned that in above post sire
<
Now if OP has agreed to spend more he can go for 5670... Yes it will work on 300w psu, but better start saving for a good one from now
Yep, It'll run, but you might not play the game as card's fps in games is reallllllllly loooooooooooow.

there official website mentions 400 watt power supply http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/ati-radeon-hd-5000/ati-radeon-hd-5670-overview/Pages/ati-radeon-hd-5670-overview.aspx#3.

and i could not get exactly from the line in bold, you mean i have to replace the psu also in future due to the load?
