Help: MTNL download log problems

I got MTNL's 590NU plan today....
However the download logger on MTNL's account setup page has bewildered me....
In the account activity for a duration of 2 hours (during which i had only checked mails, browsed a few sites and downloaded one file of 10MB), i get a download of 86MB!!! In no way i could've downloaded this amount....
Also my download limit (during day) is 1GB, but the account info is reporting only 700MB (out of which 100MB has already be utilized during the first day!)
I really have no idea what could've done it...and if i can't stop if then i'm gonna utilize all of my 1GB limit in a week with just surfing :no:

Has anyone experienced the same thingy with MTNL's (same plan).

And on the brighter side, i'm getting 120-130KB/s download speeds (i'm downloading only between 12pm and 8am only)

PLz help me....i'll call up the customer care anyway to report this issue....

Do you have a firewall, anti-virus, anti-spyware and bandwidth meter/logger installed ?

install du meter for this purpose and then verify it 1st..
then we can think of possible reasons..

If u got ur MTNL connection in the middle of the month then it won't show u 1GB download limit. This would be corrected from next month, so don't worry.

checking mail, browsing sites are also counted as downloads.

Maybe your antivirus or some other software is updating itself.

Thanks...Yeah it was live update running in the background...Will enable it only between 12pm to 8am from now on....
Yeah i got the connection from the middle of the month...so perhaps that's why lesser download limit...
