PC Peripherals Help ! Need to buy a printer..

hi guys..

Im planning to get a 'all-in-one' printer asap..
As of now..i've narrowed it down to models from the 3 main brands HP,Epson & Canon..
Did a bit of research on de net and came across the models mentioned below:
HP Deskjet F4185/4180
HP F380(what i found ideal)
HP 915
Canon Pixma MP180
or some equivalent model from EPSON..

Obvious Needs:
Decent prints b/w & colour
Decent scans
Decent Cartridge life
Problem-free operation
Good LifeSpan

Budget: around 4-4.5..max 5k

So please suggest a printer meeting the above criteria & do quote the price of the printer too (chennaities,I'd appreciate the prices in Richie street)

guys id really appreciate some help on this regard..

do let me know what you think about the above printers & your experiences with either of those printers or general view of the 3 companies..

i have to make the purchase by 11th..
 
Try to avoid getting a feed-in type scanner as much as possible and instead try to get one with flat-bed scanning. My friend recently got a HP 4355 for Rs.6,400 but now regrets that he cud've gone for a flat-bed scanner coz you are restricted to scanning sheets of papers only and, not to mention, there's a possiblity that important documents could get stuck in there.

Just my 2 cents...
 
i feel a ADF + FLAT BED is the best option if you can find any. HP / EPSON both make decent stuff. and can be refilled easily makes them pretty economical then.

i've narrowed my choices to what's actually available now:
1.HP F4185
2.Canon MP 160
3.Canon MP 145
So does anyone own any of the above models or have any idea about its performance?? do share your thoughts..
need to finalize my decision soon...

hey my friend wants to sell his all in one printer hp 6318 it has fax scan copy and print it has memory card slot too. he wanted something like 6k but i told him that u wont get more then rs 4.8k if interested pm me it is 11 months old but not used for 3 months now but working perfectly only 30-40 printouts have been used till date.
 
i have canon mp160 and this is my third printer used epson and hp both. this is the best and technology has come far and the best was the price for the same. i got it for rs. 2200. printer scanner copier 2 inks inlcluded.
 
^^ are u serious mp160.. for 2.2k? man jus like the stock market goes up thes days the comp peripheral prices crash down.. ;)

india its 3900 i got it from dubai for 2200
 
mp145 is the latest but its a basic version of the mp160 ! speeds & features are lesser..

well m hopin to get a good price for the MP180 when im buyin else will have to go ahead with the MP160 !

too bad the HP F4185 is a total ink sucker otherwise its the latest from HP & offers good performance too!

Finally bought a Canon PIXMA MP180 yesterday for 4.6k !

tried out the printing(both C&b),copying(C&b) and scanning...all gr8!

my verdict: a great AIO printer for its price!

+b/w printing speed is really fast , colour takes a lil longer

+scans are great

+installation&usage is easy

+pictbridge&mem. card slots

+helpful lcd display

-cartridges blk & colour :975 & 1050 resp.!(but lasts really long)

-tad bigger than the HP model

-a little slow on processing(has lesser onboard memry than HP)

-lil more expensive than HP models
