when the monitor is connected using a VGA cable it gives popups in case the resolution is not native. Now, this can be an issue while gaming. How do you people disable the notifications?

I need to know the exact keys :)

If it is S2233SW, while resolution changes in gaming, the notification doesn't come for me, just during boot up, it does. Dats it and then it goes off after 5 seconds or something.
May be u need to install the driver or something...:)

hey this issue happens with my pc too as i too am using a vga cable for now
but that pop up only comes up when i start the pc and but just by pushing the button on the right which is the top-most button (i guess menu button i m not sure) that takes out the pop up if not it goes automaticly , if u figure uot a fix please tell me ....anyways it is nt a big deal for me

Install Monitor drivers and also install latest Video card drivers.

That should take care of the issue..Since you are using VGA cable you will receive this message while starting the computer.

Thats normal :D

It happened to me too while I using VGA connector. It is not a driver issue. Connect the monitor with DVI cable and your problem will be solved.

It's not bcoz of cable used, since i have been using it in VGA like many others and dnt face the problem.

And moreover, there is no difference between VGA or DVI on these monitors.

So, probably u can do a windows update for the latest drivers for the monitor and u should be done. Give it a try and let us know how it goes...:hap2:

Thanks for the replies guys... the problem is that I needed the info for someone else. I don't have this monitor and going to home of the person who owns it is the last option. So I wanted to know what people here are doing about it.

BTW, the viewsonic that I owned earlier had an option to disable the notifications

Well, in my case the issue was solved definitely due to the cable. No more messages after the cable change. You are right about there being no difference in quality between VGA and DVI. I certainly didn't see any noticeable change.

But please tell me how updating the drivers is going to stop the message from appearing while we are in DOS. I mean, the error message only appears till windows is not loaded, right. Once windows loads, the message goes away.

I never said that the drivers would stop the messages from comin in DOS...:bleh:

As morgoth said that this happens for him during gaming, did u read that? Dats why i said drivers might resolve the issue.

Everyone here using this monitor with VGA cable would be getting it during bootup.

Dats normal coz VGA cable can't automatically keep the native resolution but in the OS, its set to native or whatever which is handled by the drivers.

Whereas all settings are done automatically in case of DVI, due to which u dnt get any message be it during bootup or any other time. Dats it.

So, if it comes during gaming, drivers might be an issue. :) Anyway, let him ask his friend to do that and lets see what happens...:)

i am planning to buy 2233ws .....is it okay to buy.......what about gaming and watching hd movies ... r u satisfied..........response time is 5ms.....is it okay....

AFAIK the only way to stop the messages is connecting the monitor via DVI port.

If anyone here who is using a VGA cable has successfully stopped the messages from appearing, kindly describe the procedure so that everybody will benefit from it.

Peace!

We are too busy admiring the monitor to write a review ;)

Seriously man, dont wait for any reviews. You can buy this monitor with your eyes closed. In its price range, its the best available monitor.

A small update: As folks here said, installing 2233ws driver (analog) will stop the popup while you are in windows/gaming. It will still come up during boot.
