CPU/Mobo Help.. RAM!!

got 1 gb transcent DDR2 RAM 667mhz for 4500.. for my nu X2 5000.. brought home the CPU, RAM didn't work.. got it replaced next day, again replaced RAM didn't work.. got it replaced for 512mb X 2 DDR2 simtronics 533mhz RAM on 14th Aug, cos they didn't have any other that moment.. now should i keep this or should i insist on getting 667 mhz 1 GB stick of transcent or any other company, if you would suggest one?? remember i spent 4500 for 1 gb stick initially n it was a sealed pack... :D
 
lol.. u scaring me.. help me find the reason.. this simtronics ram which i am running right now is working fine (i guess) .. i use to get blue screen while loading.. it said dump error.. but with this simtronics ram i could load windows... n runnig them fine.. but plz warn me if i should get the rig checked.. also i got this X2 5000 not in a box.. it was some other pack... switch knows wat it is.. i forgot wat u say it.. it comes in a big container with black color cage type thing.. lol.. i hope my rig is ok... ????
 
Looks like your Transcend RAM isnt getting enough Voltage to Boot ?

Whats the Voltage the Trancend RAM needs?
Check what is says on the Sticker. I hope it has a Sticker :S.
 
well now i don't have the stick with me, i replaced it with simtronics 512 X 2 .. but i have a cooler master 600 watt psu.. would't it suffice the needs?
 
Thats not what I meant..

As in the Motherboards, normally, supply 1.8V to DDR2 RAM.

So if the Transcend needs more than 1.8V, it wont boot.

I doubt that thats the problem.. But it never hurts to check.
 
ok.. i will for sure.. so i will just check on the sticker, if its above 1.8 then? i should be increasing the voltage on the mobo.. i am nu to this oc stuff.. will get back to u tommorow.. tell me if i should check for anything else, cos tomorrow i will go to nehru place .. for HDD n RAM.. :)
 
well what you'll have to do is increase the voltage using the current sticks and save the info to bios and then put the other stick in, coz you wont be able to boot with it otherwise. also get the latest bios version, that could help.

Its call 'tray pack'.
 
hey you dont seem to have a original processor you have a tray pack. Unless you purchased a second hand piece its a bad news. Try to register the processor with Amd to confirm.
 
isn't it a distant chance that procy like X2 5000, which has been launched just now in india can be a second hand? and plz tell me how would i register the procy with AMD??
 
Its an original proccy... relax. There are 2 kinds of packaging.... the box pack and tray pack. The second option is how OEM's buy it, because mostly they dont need the whole retail box and stuff, thats it.

Secondly as far as your Ram goes, its highly unlikely that both the Transcend Ram stics were faulty. Update your Bios to the latest rev, and try some other brands 667mhz Ram, see how that works out...
 
should i continue with the compromise 533 mhz simtronics 512 X 2 ddr2 chips, which i exchanged for Transcent 667 mhz 1 gb stick earlier? whereas compatibility is concerned, i have to check it.. cos these 2 simtronics chios r running fine on my system..
