Lower efficiencies at ambient operating temperatures and higher operating temperatures compared to VX450; lower quality of the components used in CM600W compared to the VX450; silent operation of the VX450 compared to the CM600W; :|

Totally bored of suggesting the same thing each n every day; :(

I think mods should make a sticky abt the comparison of Corsair VX450 v/s the Coolermaster ExtremePower 600W;

What about the efficiency of the VX450?
I saw that the average continuous output is 82% (does this mean 370W?). Is this sufficient for a C2Q rig (no OC'ing)?
The CM600W gives 70% (so that comes to 460W I think?)

Evn the CM460w is a much smarter buy than the CM600(read SEVENTEAM 500w OEM PSU):bleh:

Do as gannu said, nothng beats the VX450 @ that price range, or if u r short on cash, get the CM460w PSU.

COOLER MASTER Extreme Power 600w psu
ok now just tell me a shop at lammy where i can find these. esp the cooler master psu?
gannu said:
Damn, not again; :(
Tell me. :(

Get the Corsair VX450 instead of that CM600W; Reiterating for the nth time: Its wayyy better than the CM600W in terms of quality and efficiency; :)
And it sells a lot cheaper nopw compared to the 3.6k tag it'd few months [even weeks back];
Check McCann, PRIME; :)
Neville posted some days back that he got it from Prime for 3250/- ONLY. :ohyeah:

Both were 3.6K odd earlier and 3.1K odd now- the argument still holds even if looked at from the price point. :lol:

I was thinking of the CM600W myself until I read the previous posts.
Now am a bit confused.
Could someone clarify in what way the CM600W is inferior to the VX450W

Wakey Wakey pal. :P
Your calculation is flawed.
The thread in the following link is exactly what the 'PC doctor/prof' ordered. :hap2:

Bah;

Good choice indeed; Congrats in advance; :P

Another guy rescued from the CM600 PSU magnet; :|

geekashish sir- i will still maintain.
Corsair VX 450 is a no compromise and now very cheap 3250/- only. :P
You will surely thank us for it one day- hopefully.

And if you are not into OCing, try to get the E8400. :)
It is indeed one of the fastest out-of-the-box dual cores you will be glad owning for some time to come.

If OCing later- my vote for E7200 stays unflinched. :P

And overall- a nice improvemnt in the thought process :thumb:- esp the staying away from mobo with onboard gfx. :D
XFX 8600GT 256MB DDR3 is like 4.2K odd now or lower and still a decent card to buy locally.
There are some Mercury(ECS oem) and Zotac 8600GT- make sure DDR3 version- that are available cheaper- 3K odd is what i have heard.
Though i still am to come across a concrete source for the same. :ashamed:
But agents are on the prowl everywhere. :lol:

Good job gunman. :D
Seems like the OP hasn't woken up yet though? :P

you guys are lucky to have availability of such Premier Brands.

here i am unable to get full range of Intel CPUs :(

^^you can always tell your computer guy to get them...i am sure he can source stuff from the distri. in delhi

i stay in baroda and my guy gets stuff from bombay for me...overnight :)

if he stocks some parts of a certain company(say asus)...it means he can get any asus product you want if you tell him to get it and are willing to pay :)

guys guys guys STOP !!
First of all BIG THANK YOU !!!!
Hi Ha Ha Ha !!!!
What a day it was yesterday?
Me and my Brother, left the house at 10am and reached Lammy at about 11 am.
Parked my bike and went inside the nearest shop Terabyte Computers.
the rates were just a little bit more. also I wanted to visit Mccann as u guys have suggested.
Bikey, do u know the saying "Evil minds think alike"
or should I say "techie minds..."
I got the config
Intel E8400 for 8490/-
Abit IP35-e for 5350/-
Seagate 500Gb 32 MB 7200.11 for 3800/-
XFX 8600GT 256MB DDR3 for 4250/-
2x1GB Corsair 2048-6400C5DHX RAM for 3150/-
Cooler Master Extreme 600W PSu for 3000/-
Gemini IDE 3.5" HDD external case for 450/-
and USB, IDE cables and some DVDs for friend
TOTAL was 29200/-
Amazingly Mccann didn't have anything ready for sale in the shop (except hdd case and usb cable). I had to wait about 1:30 hrs in the shop only for the stuff to arrive. Took a good look at other deals, advised one young guy to buy a nVidia 7050 based mobo than 954 based Intel original.
My stuff was arriving one by one and the salesmen were looking at it as they havn't seen it b4. esp. the corsair ram with heatsink was the star of the show.
Anyway, finally we got the stuff and the Invoice, got every thing in plastic carry bags and we headed for a small restaurent for superb MISAL PAV. Actually It wasn't that good but tasted THE BEST, coz we were starving. After the table was cleared, we put everything , except mobo, in our backpacks and rode out of the Lammy.
At Bombay Central our bags were checked by the Police. Don't know why, but there were many Paandus in Mumbai Central area.
After reaching home I assembled the PC and installed Xp and other spftwares. Guys, is the machine fast or what? Also played HL2 and COD2 at full GFX settings today.
Few problems:
1.The problem of Dual boot does exist.
2.I don't know the key for the BOOT MENU for selcting the drive to boot the PC. My MSI mobo has F12 key assigned for it.
3.Tell me how to disable all the power saving settings and run the CPu and the CPU fan at the full speed always, regardless the load on the CPU.
4.I have a unused Heatsink from Intel Pentium D processor. This heatsink has taller fins and the central portion/base is made of copper. The one I got with my CPU has steel base. I'm thinking of putting copper one if it fits easily. I'll put the new fan on it. Don't comment on this right now. I'll put up the photos so that u guys can tell me.

Congrats for the rig and esp for the VX450 if u've got one; :)

1. Flash it with the latest BIOS; although the problem might still haunt u I've heard a few rare cases where it faded away unless otherwise u switch off the UPS power for >8 hrs; :)

2. Errrmm.. U mean to get into the Setup screen while loading?? Press Delete once while on POST and enter the settings;

3. Hunt for the CPU configuration within the BIOS option and disable all options like EIST/Speedstep and the likes;

4. The Pentium D stock cooler with the Cu base'd be definitely better but tell u what u should've bought a TR Ultima and a 120mm fan so that u could've OC'ed the proccy to 4G flawlessly; :D

Congrats sir. :D
I hope you took a proper bill for all of your stuff. :)
Shopping is tiring but so rewarding, especially when one gets all the right stuff and everything works ok when set up. :)
So CM600 or VX450? :P
And i plan to steal your PentiumD cooler.:evil:
(i need one for a couple of weeks or maybe even few days. :P)

Nah gunman- he is mostly the 'fastest at stock' types and let him have a fast and no fuss rig. :)
No matter how easy or simple OCing is to some, sometimes it's good to leave it alone.
His new rig is anyways pretty cool even at stock and mostly way way way faster than whatever he had.

it doesn't require Del key to be pressed nor we need to enter the BIOS.
For MSI the key is F12, ASUS is F8 andI think for Intel orig mobo it is F8.
I'm taking about the screen where on pressing a a Function key it shows the list of all bootable drives connected to the system, including the USB HDDs, Pendrives. So that we can select the desired one and the Boot Sequence in the BIOS remains unchanged.

So true, u should see my girl's face when she finds THE right shade of Maybelline after walking through three shopping malls.

there is a reason. Instead of trying to OC and risking it to burn, I have donated my earlier two PCs, to a NGO in a small village in Raigad.

EDIT: No offense meant.

found this on some website recently, it should help -
abit IP35 doesn’t allow changing the boot-up device “on the flyâ€, like many other mainboards. You have to access the BIOS Setup, change the device order save the settings and reboot.

nice buy dude
you can install the older cooler...and compare its fan with the new fan...use the one with the higher current written on the label

gaymervivek put his p4 HSF on his e2140 with the older fan because that fan ran faster :)

for running the cpu fan at its fastest, install speedfan and pump it up to 100% :)
