Help!! Upload Speed sucks on my PC.

But he is hitting upload caps for a server on the Indian mainland and that too on speedtest.net

I have often times seen that speednet tests are always at or better than advertised speeds, especially when using the closest node.

I checked on Drive and we transfer and upload speeds are worse there. not even crossing 2Mbps
Can't be server issue on YT, Since only videos gets capped at 6Mbps, While live goes above 22Mbps, Don't know if YT live have something that unlocks full potential of my ISP Plan.

If you want to rule out hardware issues, get a cheap 10/100 ethernet card and see if uploads improve. If not, it's your ISP.

also try fast.com or dslreports speedtest.

also try to borrow another computer and connect them directly over the lan cable. then try to run an iperf3 test. if that succeeds, then you can pin down the issue to router/isp.

I would suggest checking QoS settings on your router, maybe reset it if not sure if something has changed.
Would suggest saving the router / connection settings if possible so that you're not stranded after the reset.

router is working fine, i checked on a laptop using the same ethernet cable and same router port, i was getting 100mbps there since it was the limit on that laptop.
But my pc have 2.5Gbps and yet it is not going beyond 50-60mbps.
did you recently downloads any app/utility/software etc. or play with Windows Settings with PC?
Nope, I even have updated paused coz i know it causes issues so i do updates very rarely.
Check the settings like Speed & Duplex and set it to Auto Negotiation or 1000 Mbps Full Duplex. or try updating network drivers
already tried that, 1gb and 2.5gb full duplex.

I think this is a windows issue, I was going to try linux but from ubuntu it's asking 10+ hours to download. ( site issue i guess )

Only thing I could suggest is getting the ubuntu distro via the torrent source listed on the website (have attached the link below), sometimes their direct connection is choppy even on airtel so ymmv.
Alternate Download Page: https://ubuntu.com/download/alternative-downloads
Torrent Link for Ubuntu 24.04: https://releases.ubuntu.com/24.04/ubuntu-24.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso.torrent

I tried ubuntu , but it ended up not working, I boot into usb loading screen comes and show an error happened and gives me only one option that is logout.
I tried reinstalling and turning off secure boot, but it's not working.
Is there any other linux distro that I can use as bootable usb.

I tried Debian but it is asking for an installation to drive.
Can I get something else like ubuntu that will work from the USB, I only need to test internet speed.
Debian has a live install unless something has changed in the last 12 hours. (I ran a live install only yesterday)

See this video for more information on how to use it.

If this doesn't work, I don't know any other widely accepted linux distro that will have the drivers built in. Maybe others here can chip in.

Your hardware is relative new enough that the latest ubuntu should start. How are you creating the bootable usb drive? And what exactly is the error being shown?

try other distro mint or fedora
use ventoy instead of burning the iso file

I'm using Rufus to create bootable usb. No error code it just shows a white screen with something went wrong and a logout button.

I will try it with balena etcher today.
