Help with universities for B-Tech

Your best bet is Bharati Vidyapeeth in Pune. 5-6 lakhs, it is a deemed university and they do decent. The rest of the Pune University colleges (BVP is not under PU), are way to expensive under the donation scheme...
 
U can still write ComedK for Karnataka, its on May 30th and the forms are out on April 28th or 29th. But u have to study(thermodynamics esp ;). The syllabus isnt very difficult but it isnt easy either.
 
You should be able to get in most of the engg colleges in tamil nadu if u can spare a few lakhs. Quality is not great, but decent relatively. And yes the placements have been good if u are looking to work after your BE/BTech.

^^ Yeah..And also you could write the TNPCEE Entrance examination to get into any of them without donation! Obviously good marks-->Better College!

So apply for it..Last date: 02.05.06! And study well!

actually guys .. one mf my friend anujit went to one of a college in chennai .. his gpa aint tht good .. plus hes not a rank holder problem is the college took 3 lakhs as donation and moreover it lost its aicte approval this year.
raghu can u tellme some of the name of colleges decent enuff and if possible where hey? or there r sites 4m where i'll gettheir infos?

one thing asking guys how good is singapore when comes to undergrad education? the degree is worldwide respected like usa's / india's degree?
 
^^Hey even i got an admission in singapore, but i didn't feel like going:P, may b for higher studies, didn't want to go there for the UG itself. KK what was your reason for not going there:)

X86, the problem you are too late to apply for colleges, now i think your only choice as far as Tamil Nadu is concerned is either the deemed univ. or the management seats under the anna univ. affiliated college. For both you need to shell out heavy amount of money afaik.
 
The colleges affiliated to Anna University are decent enough. If your friend paid 3 lakhs and the college went bust then i would say that he didnt gather enough information. A couple of good colleges here are

Sri Venkateshwara College of Engg (Costly)
SSN College of Engg (Good, merit based, prefer CBSE students)
St.Joseph's College of Engg (Im studying here, not bad)
Velammal College of Engg (Decent)
Crescent College of Engg (Renamed to BSA Abdur Rehman College)
Easwari College of Engg

They are listed from good to bad. I might have missed some. But the above are decent and will take you in if u pay. ALL OF THEM HAVE GOOD PLACEMENTS.

AFAIK Joe, in the Sing. thing you gotta stay/work there for some 5/10 years, not too sure but something like this is there.

Also, Manipal is not a bad option, they offer everything from Computers to Mechanical, and if your 12th marks are decent I don't think admission would be an issue.
 
guys i'm appearing for comed k and the icfai test .
how is the icfai istitute? i think its in hyderabad.
and one more thing raghu can u tell me how to apply in the college u study :P . lol.
and moreover how much donations or $$$ they needs :/.
problem is i cant afford too much as i'm applyin for schools in us and by the time i'll get the result it;kll be december.
so i need a backup here incase i didnt get in there .. and the backup shud be a little cheaper i mean 5 lakhs donation omgf!! :O lol :P
