Exactly what I wanted to say. :)

@ELNINO,

My suggestion for 75k

Phenom II X3 720BE -> 7.5k
Biostar TA790GX AM3 -> 6k
Corsair xms3 DDR3 2x2GB -> 6k
Western Digital 1TB Black -> 6.5k
NZXT ZERO2/ZERO -> 6.5k
Samsung Lavender P2350 -> 13k
Altec Lansing MX5021 -> 6.5k
ASUS XONAR DX -> 5k
Corsair HX 520 -> 6k ( VX550 for 5.5k , if HX520 isn't available )
LG / LiteON DVDRAM -> 1k
Logitech/Microsoft Keyboard+Mouse wireless -> 2k onwards (choose yourself from the shop, large range)
APC 800VA -> 5k

I think nothing left except the GPU. :sigh:

So that is 70k or more (if you consider higher priced keyboard+mouse)
The on board graphics is descent and your brother should be able to manage 2 months with that. Then present him a DX11 card. :)

Sounds like the most sensible post in this thread so far. It is a great idea to wait it out, for the graphics card. However, I am not sure if 75K is supposed to include monitor or not. And spending so much on Keyboard doesn't sound too good to me. Rather buy some gadget dedicated to gaming.

Buy a nice monitor with a resolution of at least 1920*1080 or 1200. Games would look lovely at those resolutions, specially with the graphics card arriving soon.

what do you mean by soon? they are already here. have been here for ages. whats wrong with u. the point of a new generation of gpu is to consume less power, produce less heat and still give more fps than the previous generation, while being of approximately the same price

Just follow the June 09 Rig guide n u will get an awesome pc which will consume around 200W/Hr
i.e. 4Hrs x 200W/hr = 800W/day
30days x 800W/day = 24KW/month
24KW/month x Rs.10/KW = Rs.240/month generated because of the computer.

What would be the rough idle power consumption of a pc with everything onboard? Is there any software that can estimate power consumption for various loads by going through the config automatically/running in the background?

Using this; Thermaltake Power Supply Calculator the power consumption for the general purpose machine in the guide comes to about 140W + the speakers and monitor.

If you've saved 127k over 7 years you should consider putting investing it or something rather than in a computer that will get outdated in a year.

Or you could buy a 50k ka computer and pay the electricity bills from that 77k remaining. :bleh:

Just kidding, have fun with your badass system.

+1 for rig by sabby

you can save 10k by deducting that sound card and ups if really dont need it. Utilise the 10k instead for latest gfx card.
Spending a lac on jst a pc should be given a second thought.;)
My efficient suggessions---

You can even get an hi-end machine in not more than 45-50k.

You can then utilise the remaining 50-70k for future upgrades thus making sure that your bro is pacing with the latest techonology. He will be more happy with that. :hap2:

You will only need to replace processor, m'board and gpu and you can sell the old stuff to needful persons here on TE or in your surroundings thus keeping rest componenents (kb/mouse/cabby/psu/lcd etc.) unchanged for long periods and saving money too.:D
What you guys say on this?

Guys , whn r core i9 and dx11 card r going to launch ? I would like to make a system like tht , Or shall i gift him i7 950 system

^^hi-end is a slightly relative term... Calculating by considering india's majority home PC's, a 45k system is somewhat hi-end if it has a nice hi-end graphics card, and otherwise very VFM parts.

And the OP's mind seems to be stuck on EXPENSIVE-but-not-VFM systems.. So no more suggestions from my side :P

a vfm system costs between 30k n 50k. a high end starts above 90k. my system is just at the beginning of high end. the best high end system wld have i7 975, quad sli gtx 295, and a alot of other stuff. will cost a minimum of $ 10k-15k

n i have no idea nor do i understand wht the OT is upto

Guys sorry i was out w/ work issues so wasnt able to chk the thread , i hav changed my mind to a AMD PHENOM II X2 550BE , ATI HD 4890 2GB , DDR3 SYSTEM PLEASE SUGGEST A CONFIG ASAP URGENT

^^That is a very smart choice. Will be able to handle just about anything you throw at it, and not cost an arm and a leg :) I'll let others suggest mobo and other parts...

Revised as per your request...

AMD Phenom II X3 720 BE -> 7.5k

OR

AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE -> 12.5k (to cope up with 4890)

Biostar TA790GX AM3 -> 6k

Corsair xms3 DDR3 2x2GB -> 5k

Western Digital 1TB Black -> 5k (from Udit's GO)

Sapphire ATI HD 4890 -> 13.5k (sure not to wait for DX11 cards in november ? may be for now 4770 and later selling that, you can get new one)

NZXT ZERO2/ZERO/TEMPEST -> 6.5k || Cooler Master 690 -> ~4k

Samsung Lavender P2350 -> 12k

Altec Lansing MX5021 -> 6.5k

ASUS XONAR DX -> 5k || Creative entry level @ 2k

Corsair HX 520 -> 6k ( VX550 for 5.5k , if HX520 isn't available )

LG / LiteON DVDRAM -> 1k

Logitech/Microsoft Keyboard+Mouse wireless -> 2k onwards (choose yourself from the shop, large range)

APC 800VA -> 5k

dude...

127k is virtually unlimited budget kinda...

please note down ur requirements 1st...

ask ur bro wat type of games he likes...

then build a machine accordingly...

its not fun to buy a ducati n then ride it below 60kmph for fuel efficiency in my opinion..

in that case u wud waste both money n the machine.... if u get wat im saying..

for now...

just buy wat u require...

Do not invest alot in getting extreme end components...(do not pay too much premium)

keep a room open for overclocking in future...(it doesnt necessarily mean too much power consumption)

with the money saved u can upgrade periodically as per requirement...

so please post ur actual requirements so that people can come up with some constructive suggestions...

Otherwise this thread will end up being a Fantasy Thread (it generally doesnt take more than 3pages for a rig suggestion threads..)

hell you dont need 2GB!!!!! Dude, 2GB is required only if you play on a 2560x1600 resolution which obviously you cant because we dont get any monitor above Full HD in india at a Vfm price.

hence stick to 4890 1GB and rest of the components have already been suggested..

Use Phenom II 720BE please with DDR3 system :hap2: wise decision :)
