Hindi Series Discuss (neflix, amazon prime, youtube, etc.)

Finished crime beat, not much action and predictable, rather boring to continue for 8 episodes

Started Ek Thi Begum (based on TRUE events)

Full action, violence... first 3 episodes makes watch more..

Aashram Season 3, Part 2 - More drama and more erotica, LoL! The final story of Baba Nirala. Akki's character arc was dealt with a really sad ending and Ujagar Singh should have won the most useless cop of the year award, couldn't do jack across 3 full seasons. Chandan Roy Sanyal's (Bhope's) acting in this part of the season was really good. Anuritta Jha was completely wasted in the show.

I'm somehow left with a lingering feeling that Prakash Jha will make a Season 4.

Khakee: The Bengal Chapter - 8/10

A very strong cast, great performances across the board and a well written story. I loved watching this season barring the last episode which honestly just felt way too "filmy" rather than carrying on with the dark, terse and well directed script. The last action sequence felt like it belonged in some 90's Hindi action flick, not in this show at all.

Worth mentioning though, in the midst of the very well known and seasoned cast the surprise was Aadil Zafar Khan's performance. He was really good in some of the scenes, very solid work.

Can this be watched with parents?
If parents are open-minded then no issues. Not much of a sex scenes but occasional!
I watched season two with my wife and father-in-law.
It all comes down with whom you are watching and how much are they comfortable with are there's no gore & foul lingo unlike other popular series where its 70% only mc bc and gali-galoch and khoon-khraba styles.
Here its all mix with just 20% lingo and 15% violence (murder/accident) that too on rare occasion!

If this is very graphic, then it becomes uncomfortable.
Sex scenes are so common these days in India that brace yourself for skin-skin nudity cum penetration very soon (within 10yrs) becoming as common as hugs and kisses!
Our audiences wants it all and sex, gore and politics sells like hotcakes. No wonder many adults series are made with popular actresses showcasing half-nudity are made openly and there's no ban on them and are granted clear certifications.
Just that they aren't allowed to be telecasted on popular ott platforms else everyone knows where to watch them (ahem ott platforms) that too for free!

Yeah I don’t deny that.

I am watching Murder in Mahim with my parents. It’s a pretty good series and has not so intense scenes, but would probably consider that as the max limit.

Lingo and violence is still fine.

See this is something you'll have to decide. It will depend on how open you are with your parents and your dynamics with them. These days in most shows a few things have become common fare:

- Strong Language
- Sensual scenes (might even have strong sexual content if the plot needs it)
- Graphic violence (extensive portrayal of gore, squirting blood spurts, close-up of open wounds/ gunshots, etc)

Now all of the above in rational and moderate content depending on the context of the plot is fine but we know these days most of it ends up being stronger, over the top stuff so what I usually do is keep my wireless mouse on my recliner arm rest (I stream on a PC connected to my main TV) and when I'm watching a show with my Mum I will usually just soft glide and skip a scene/ scenes if I find it being uncomfortable. That way both of us can continue watching the show progress without much hindrance. Nothing is said, we have a subtle established understanding of our comfort levels when viewing media.

Of course when I'm watching alone or with my SO... the problem quickly gets self addressed. ;)

Very considerate of you

That underlined bit is the cherry on the top

Couldn't agree more. When ott era started all series were family-friendly but now we have to watch 8/10 series alone in the dark or only with our friends. It's all dark and that's rightfully said that we soon will even be surpassing the culture of the west.

Sacred Games and Mirzapur joined the race within 1 year and took ott to next level entertainment in India..
Both are not family friendly but full of violence, nudity, foul language.
