Good move. I have observed his cycle. Usually logs on during the nights. Day time he does not. He is a nice guy. Am damn excited about this. They should move to PROD on July 10th. And maybe August 1st week the manifesto should exit. Going to be ordering a NATO strap for this baby. :)

The cost of the watch is 2030 INR each, for two it would be 4060 INR. Add 150 for DTDC and 400 for Blue Dart.

Not an expert here, but some of the reasons they are liked:

1. From a far off land. (Similarly Russian [Vostok, Raketa] and Chinese watches are so loved). Basically exotic.
2. Are usually automatics. So have a soul. Usually watch lovers abhor quartz (but still collect them, I have like 4-5), but the heart is with the automatic/mechanical units.
3. Have robust movements, and keep good time.
4. Look classical and vintage. Again anything, vintage/old-school; watch lovers are going to hover like bees to honey.
5. They usually have a history behind them. Like HMT does, if you read about it. The Russian units with CCCP stampings are chased after. In a same fashion, the Indian ones - Janta, Jawan, Kohinoor. There is one Janta with Hindi numerical counters. That is awesome.
6. Literally as time passes: they are getting rarer and more difficult to find. The chase beats the catch...!
7. Quite affordable, i.e. cheap.

Overall, HMT watches are respected and are collector items. Usually people put on NATO/ZULU straps since the bracelet/leather belt is sub-par. HMTs make excellent dress watches. Freaky, has some awesome ones in his thread.

Those guys out on WUS, are ordering them in bunches. So many have ordered 3,4,5. Shocking. The excitement in that thread, is amazing and mind-boggling. We just disregard this brand here in India. Who would go out to buy an HMT...?

I will order from there. Cause in batches he initiates a discount. I have around 7 watches, so have to decide. They are a mix of Pilot (Navihawk), Diver, Edifice (chrono/ani-digi) and a 60's Seiko Bell-Matic (yea it runs) automatic.

I had asked OP about when does the GO closes . He didn't give a clear reply . They started with minimum 200 watches and are now at 285 . So when does this closes , time frame , quantity or anything . As per OP maximum is 500 so will we wait till they reach 500 , then add another 45 days for HMT to manufacture it . A closing date is required as can not plan gifting it if takes 2+ months .

Actually, the minimum is 200. Which has been breached. And maximum is 500, to keep it a novelty. So irrespective, as per him, we go to PROD on July 10th. I think first week August 2013, shipping should reprise.
 
@asingh Thanks for the headsup. I contacted the OP and made the NEFT transfer too a little while ago. :)

Excellent , had asked him the same query but got a reply that orders can be from minimum of 200 to max of 500
