Home air purifiers effective for improving indoor air quality?

Ikea has 2-3 options and one of them 12k one has app control. Plus it sells an air quality indicator for 1K.

If your flat is too dusty then a removal/washable or vacuum cleaned pre-filter should be the way to go as dust particles are fairly large.

Starkvind has this built in ( so no need to buy if you use its auto mode), but its a low accuracy sensor. The other sensor that they used to sell is much better and that also can be integrated with AP. But i dont use auto mode and prefer manual. They take very little power anyway.

If one is able to spend 13K on Ikea's starkvind purifier, I would probably look at options like Xiaomi Lite 4 or Coway right?
The fact that it is not available for 5k anymore like Diwali makes it a difficult buy at 13k especially when we have other options in 13K and less price.

Request: If someone is buying an air purifier or anything else from Ikea (store or online), please buy a VINDRIKTNING Air quality sensor for me. I can arrange courier pickup from your place since they don't ship to NCR. Thank you. :)

Not sure of what use it will be. It uses one of the worst particle sensors available (Cubic PM1006K). You will not get any reading resembling reality.

It says "air quality based on particles (PM2.5)" in description.

Any suggestion for a better product at reasonable price?

In case this is of interest to anyone looking for an air purifier, the Mi purifiers can integrate with Home Assistant. I've had more luck with HAOS than HA Supervised, but they were installed on different hardware so Im not sure what variable resolved the issue for me.

Here is how I use it on my dashboard.

I see you are using the ‘Miio’integration. Are you entering username and password for cloud API access? Is there no local only access to the Air purifier? I have AP4

You probably have the air purifier in main local network/subnet. This doesn't work across subnets unfortunately. Will have to put the air purifier in the main network and use firewall to prevent cross talk.
SNAT/masquerade worked.

The problem is having something else to calibrate and compare against. For the fun of it, I ordered a 10-in-1 detector from China only because it cost 2k and has Tuya integration. Will receive it later in the month and see if it anyway correlates with the air purifier indicator.

However, any proper monitor will cost $150-200 at least internationally, so might be difficult to commit to one. Even the ones included in air purifiers are remarkably off the mark and can seldom be taken seriously.

Can you share the link please?
