How is PVR Gold Class in Bengalooru?

Also do I get 1 ticket free with ICICI platinum card(same as other classes)?

What about food(quality and price) and seating? Are they couple seats?

Thanks :)

1. expensive (Rs. 600), yet sold out for the weekend

2. icici bank offer is not valid for gold class

3. havent been there...so cant say about the seating on the couches though the ticket price includes Rs .150 worth of food coupons.

It would be a better deal to go to fame lido and gook a gold class ticket there..recliner sofa for ~rs. 200[ maybe 250 in the weekends]

Found this review in mouthshut by a disgruntled customer

I don’t know how this was rated so highly by Mouthshut members. I checked out what is so great about PVR Cinemas at Forum in Bangalore (and to add more to the pain, their Gold Class) and it was

the worst experience I had so far given the money you have to chuck out. The Gold class experience started from the ticket counter. They have said that they treat you like a Star. They treat you like Sh..t. Probably they named it Gold since it has the same colour as that. The counter guy acts as if he was the President of India. The door boy submits you to a frisking as if you were a criminal. None of them offer you any guidance. You have to find your own way to the theatre entrance. Inside you have the smell of stale food mixed with some perfume. Your Gold Class experience starts here.

Other than for a seat, which you are supposed to know how to use (they don’t guide you or provide instructions), you find scantily clad foreigners sprawled all over the place in intimate poses (maybe that is the reason why some of the other people liked this experience). I wasn’t too much impressed by this ambience nor the picture quality when the film started.

Now the PVR Con begins. Unfortunately for me I ad taken their 150 Rs food coupon also (I paid 600 bucks total for getting conned).

A not so customer friendly staff member approached you in between the movie (when there is no lighting so that you can’t read the prices in the menu). Why can’t they approach you before the movie begins when there is light? Probably these voyeurs want to catch couples getting too intimate off guard. Now I find that the prices are higher than at Leela Palace. I order a sandwich and a fruit punch (in the dimlight the total price seems to be less than 150 Rs; I am willing to bet that the worn out menu handed over to me mentioned the price of the fruit punch as 50 Rs).

I get what I ordered. Frankly 50 Rs together for what was given would be too much. We used to get better food at my college hostel. After some time the staff member menacingly stands over me (flexing his muscles like a bouncer - do they pick goons specifically as staff in PVR?) and says that I owe 100 bucks more. What for? The fruit punch is Rs.150. I demand the menu. He shows me a better looking menu with 150 written as price. Again in the dimlight, I can’t make out whether this guy had put a 1 beside the 50. So I shell out a total of 700 of my hard earned cash for the ’Gold’ sh..t experience.

Go to PVR if your parents have given you so much money you want to waste it some way or the other, even if it means you yourself burn your fingers and whole self. And recommend this to all your enemies.

Seats are nice, very comfy. Food is a rip off, but its up to you if you want to shell out that much!

Its worth a visit atleast once! If you can afford it do try it out :)

here in delhi it costs rs 750 for a movie at premiere time and rs500 in the morning.... as for food, the only thing included here in the ticket is a appy fizz put into a wine glass(screw the bastids)... as for light, they give you a pencil torch for looking at the menu during the movie... also there is a woman to escort you to the hall.... all said and done, though a waste of money, it is worth giving a try, at least once specially for the damn comfy sofas that they give :P

^^ ok lol, i will change it.... havent changed that thing for a long long time... apologies to anyone who thinks so....

owing to the curiosity my avatar has created, i will post it here... mods may delete it if they find it inappropriate... lol though i found it really funny

dunno bought PVR Gold @ Bangalooru

but in Delhi its awsum, love the free apple juice :D

also food is really expensive

Went to Fun cinemas...Cunningham road... Shitty theatre...cant believe I paid 215 per tkt for that 3rd class space(I am coming from 100per tkt in hyd)....Bought a chicken sandwich for 60Rs.....I almost threw up on the first bite....I took a peep inside the mysterious sandwich (used the light frm my cell) and found something powdery...i think it was fungus....yuckkkkkkk :fear:

I would stay away from the gold class. The seating is comfy but the service & food are terrible.

I'd have to agree with what the mouthshut review said.

4 of us had gone for a show earlier. ended up paying 1000+ extra on the short eats. (fries & sandwiches.)

I could have seen the movie in silver class and gone out later for much better food. :bleh:

The screen is smaller & the sound system ain't better. Can't be paying 400 buck extra for the seating!

You are actually paying only for the seating!! Believe it or not!!

That is the only good thing abt Gold Class. Otherwise, it's just like any other theatre. The food is decent but ridiculously expensive.

I went to Lido on saturday morning....just 110 rs...its pretty comfortable too. Otherwise stick to PVR classic...A friend finds seating in classic better than europa
