with any type of wireless all is well as long as there arent too many users.
i had an airtel 2G. used it with my nokia3110c(it died). at first i used to get minimum 20kilobyte ps dwn and 10 up. with max of 40dwn and 15up. now i tried once, i got 10 dwn max!! i tried at my college(use full for only facebook/other social sites as facebook is blocked by our servers on wifi ) and it was a good steady 35KBps!!! the tower is rightnext to our college and all around its fields or oil refineries or other industries!

really looking forward to 3G in India though!!

when tethered to laptop i get 2Mbps. Not bad at all

What is this Rs 58 "FRC" means? cant i avail the RS 4200 offer if i go for the data card from BSNL?

"FRC" is First Recharge Coupon... generally used to activate new Simcards (or other connections)

You can use 3G Internet on PC through both mobile and USB Data card.

Or you can buy a 3G USB Modem and use the sim with the modem for the internet on PC.

Lucky you..
100+ Photon + connections on the same tower bring its network down on a weekly basis here..
same with the 1000+ Airtel Connections(ON A SINGLE TOWER)

^ Don't know about MTNL, but you can use it anywhere there is a BSNL network without any roaming charges.
