How to connect Home Theater, laptop and LCD TV

Get a media player, its better as you do not need to use your laptop then to play the videos. Also you might have to get a HDD.

Do not get the sound card unless you wish to want to use the laptop only for playback.

@Gannu: mistook the RCA video port for a spdif on the asus!

So is AC RYAN PLAY ON HD Essential best media player ? or Western Digital(if it had coaxial in )one i shld go for?

I think u would need media player which has co-axial out so that u can give co-axial input to ur philips HT and to get the display on ur TV u can use the HDMI from media player to TV.
