Need to know how to make my phone UNREACHABLE? As in the network provider IVR should say it is not reachable. Shutting down the phone does not help since that means the IVR will say phone is switched off. Please suggest

Take out the battery of the phone without switching off.

Missed the first answer, LOL!

which network ??

I make my reliance network unreachable by turning on airplane mode or else ask ur service provider to activate voicemail service...

I have activated my voice mail services so in case of cellphone unreachable, switch off the call will automatically be diverted to voicemail no....!!!

One Offtopic, is teh voicemail service a VAS ??

^yeah mate, thats true so its always better to remove the battery when the mobile is in standby mode

My SE phone has option of restricting all or certain incoming/outgoing calls. Haven't tried it. Maybe restricting incoming calls would say that phone is unreachable.

^^ No it said the No is busy....

Well, don't you think doing that can corrupt the OS or might damage SD Card if read/write operation is on in some cases?? [Just A Guess]
That applies to all mobiles with OS and SD card..

But the statement was for ZTE Blade... Was that specific?

If you mean Accept Calls feature then thirumalkumaran is right. It will instantly ignore a call and hence a person will get the busy tone.

I did this once while I owned a Galaxy Spica, and I dunno what the phone was doing when I pulled out the battery. But the next time I switched it back on I couldn't open messaging, I kept getting some error with messaging.application or something like that when I hit Messaging and it had to be forced closed ....

I had no option but to back up and hard reset the phone.

Nope. @OP's siggy says that he started the thread using ZTE Blade, so I just suggested him not to try that with ZTE Blade.

Yes, you are right, that applies for all mobiles with OS and SD Card, that's why every manufacture warns to not to use hotswap SD Card or turn off mobile before taking out SD Card etc. etc.

But depends, won't do any harm on S40 Series phones and I don't know what OS Samsung Metro series phones use etc. In these types of phones there is no problem.

That makes it confirm.

Simple solution which works on most S60-based phones and may work on the ZTE Blade. Search for a network and then try switching to a network other than your home network. You'll immediately become offline...
