I have couple dead HDD which doesn't spin, would replacing the pcb would fix them?
check if sata ports have accumulated dust or simply rusted awaySeagate barracuda 2tb, and 1tb . They used to work but in older system but they were collecting dust in shelf for few years.
no dustcheck if sata ports have accumulated dust or simply rusted away
If the internal mechanical system has died then forget about repairing. If only pcb has malfunctioned then you will still need replacement pcb from exact same model drives from elsewhere. You will also need specialized software & tools which you are most likely haven't even heard about till now. Start from here & if you still think you have some small chance then continue there:no dust
Even then firmware chip needs to be swapped between the boards in most cases. If only pcb has malfunctioned then you will still need replacement pcb from exact same model drives from elsewhere.
