You should however be aware of that this may void your warranty if you proceed and follow the steps in this post. Is it worth taking the risk? Find out first what to expect in the new Nokia N73 Music Edition

5. Open NSU, then making sure your phone is conncected follow the steps, hopefully it should say thre is an update, if it says you have the latest firmware, just click on reinstall and follow the steps, this will now download a 46mb file, and will install ME sotware on your phone.

6. When your phone starts up again, it should start up with a green background...there you have it N70 Music Edition
Well differences of N70 vs music edition are a few themes, and of course the jump from S60 2nd Edition to the S60 3rd Edition.

I donot take responcibility of the usage of this article, it is being posted for informative use only

kindly note, updating to the music edition will VOID your warranty so proceed at your own risk.

I have successfully done this on both N70 and N73 too.

If you liked this guide reps welcome:hap2:

hey..u really posted something useful..and yeah ive noticed ..that now a days..ppl dont feel like posting back or thanking even if they find something useful in a post or thread..

so dont feel sad dude..u ve got some really good piece of info..but maybe not every one has a N70/N 73. and the one's who are gettin new are mostly gettin ME's....

thats excellent...a friend picked up a phone n70 recently and modded it to the n70 me in this same manner....however as u currectly metioned this should be done only and only if its a grey market phone ! ....OR......the phone is not under warranty due to any reasons....nice info...keep it up...

I agree with Faheem.

Wait till this Budget, mobile price will down and N series phone can be in budeget for most of people and see How this Thread get lots of Replies. Nice work SoulFire :) keep it up.

heh heh 1 day and 5 replies nice, anyways this change that is done is totally reversible for those who r hesitating to try

another piece of info

your product code is written beneath ur battery on the phone so just change the product code and do a software update again from the nokia site to get your old firmware back

also as some people mentioned that warranty is on the hardware so there shouldnt be any problems, but im not too sure of that, well 1 thing noticed is that n70 scrolling through pictures and loading is much faster on the me and ofcourse the bump up on OS version on n70 makes it better too

Well differences of N70 vs music edition are a few themes, and of course the jump from S60 2nd Edition to the S60 3rd Edition.

N70 Music Edition is also S60 2nd Edition. There is no change in that.

nopes its 3rd edition, do you know how 2 check ? if not ill post back how

Yes. It is 2nd edition. Exact version Symbian OS 8.1a, Series 60 2nd Edition.

The differences between N70 and N70 ME are:

N70 ME has black body.

N70 ME has 2 additional themes.

N70 ME has bundled 1 GB RS-MMC card.

N70 ME replaces the multimedia key with dedicated music key and that key is not customizable now. On long press it opens the Visual Radio.

N70 ME firmware has support for AD-41 Remote control.

Do I need the actual "Nemesis" device or can I just use the USB cable that came with my N73? because when I click on scan it says there is an error...
Also Im in Australia so I'm assuming that the code I need to use is 0539349

Any advice would be greatly apprecieated.

u donot need any nemesis device, just the software connected via usb , do make sure once its connected via usb no other software is accessing the phone else the nemesis software wont be able to read
