Just got the update from HTC and It's Gingerbread v2.3.3 :clap: :clap:

'M I the first one in India to get 2.3.3 Update? :D

Hey Guys,

For Indian DHDs it is planned to AIR FOTA Update in June-July but if you want it early you can install this update.

Seriously? When did you get the update? I haven't seen anything yet. I guess I will hit the update now button.

Is your phone an Indian version or the european version? I mean if your CID is something like XXXXXXX720.X then its Indian else if its XXXXXXXX405.X then its european & in that case no wonder you got the 2.3.3 update. I am having an Indian version and like all other Indians I am waiting for the update :(
 
Mine is Indian Version Purchased Locally From Meerut With Bill.

There are various differences in new update:
Faster better animations (pop in/pop out).
Slightly Better Battery Life.
Better Response.
Almost 0% Lag/Slowdown.
New Theme.
Better 720p Recording, and
Slightly better sound in both headset and loudspeaker.

alas I have been pressing the check now button on update screen 50 times a day since the past 5 days and still now update is showing up :(

you are damn lucky dude, to have got the update so early.

Yup, Seems to be. :)
 
So your device may not be an Indian DHD... Usually Indian version will have 720 or something instead of 405!

I thought same.

May be I got the update by mistake, either from server end or my end.

But in the end I got the update and I'm loving it. :)
 
^if thats the case, then its fine :) i thought your seller might had a play with you by selling an imported version by saying indian one :P
 
i also think his dealer sold him a piece imported from uk by saying that it carries indian warranty. but no biggie as htc actually provides 2 yrs international warranty for uk bought phones.

Really???, If that then I can purchase "HTC EVO 3D" from UK.

In that case I'll get One year extra warranty as Indian version HTCs get one year warranty.
 
first of all evo 3d is for us only & for the time being its european alternative has not been announced. Secondly although HTC does give 2 yrs international warranty to its uk customers but not all HTC service centers in india acknowledge the same (atleast salora doesnt). Finally buying from uk is not going to save you a good chunk of money on the other hand might even cost more than it does in india especially if GBP/INR goes up.

One of my friends had purchased the desire HD from handtec in uk & got it shipped here. His total cost was 28.5k including customs. This was in Jan-11. I purchased the desire HD locally in Feb-11 & my costing was 26k :P
 
Was one of the first ones to get the official Indian HTC Desire HD in Dec. All this time I was waiting for the gingerbread update to show up.

And when updates started arriving around the world and not here, I got frustrated and installed myself a Custom ROM.

Now getting even better performance, battery life and everything....!! :D
