^^ Can u give more info about Custom.

Earlier in the era of Windows Mobile, It was nice when the new updates can be downloaded from manufacturer's website and can be installed by the user very easily.

Why don't HTC provide update in same manner?

Upload it to their website and we all Indians can download it all together.

Was one of the first ones to get the official Indian HTC Desire HD in Dec. All this time I was waiting for the gingerbread update to show up.

And when updates started arriving around the world and not here, I got frustrated and installed myself a Custom ROM.

Now getting even better performance, battery life and everything....!! :D

'M I the first one in India to get 2.3.3 Update? :D

Hey Guys,
For Indian DHDs it is planned to AIR FOTA Update in June-July but if you want it early you can install this update.

""

Download
Flashed it on my friend's phone and it's working flawless.
To flash it you have to create gold card.

The update is available for me as well. Can't wait to get back home and install it.

@dev - can you list down the improvements/changes? also are you facing any wifi issue after the update?

First things first.. yipee I finally got the update :D

Dude I am not having wifi issues so far. The changes that I have noticed right of the bat are:

1. Phone is faster overall

2. Small UI tweaks due to sense 2.1

3. Screen packs more brightness now

4. Battery life is longer (have been downloading stuff over the past couple of hrs & my battery has reduced by only 10%)

5. Newer skins are available from the htc hub

6. Can now download updated maps free for the HTC route 66 navigation.

Things I am yet to try out

1. Have to check audio quality

2. Have to check camera quality

3. Have to check gps performance

So far so good. All installed apps are working fine

Earlier I Installed European Version, Now Downloading Indian Version.

Will Update The Changes/Differences Between The Two Versions (If Any).

2.36.405.5
vs
2.37.720.3

:D

--------------------------

2.36.405.5

vs

2.37.720.3

-------------------------

Simply Nothing.

But I found:

1) 2.37.720.3 Increased the Brightness. Screen Looks Much Brighter And Have More Saturated Colors.

2) No WiFi Issues.

I got the update. But I have a question. Isn't the scrolling screwed up? I mean the scroll doesn't free flow like used to earlier in the apps menu. I like the frequently used option in there, but I am not able to scroll from top to bottom as quickly as I could do earlier. Also a small scroll bar has made its way to the middle of the right hand of the screen. Wonder what this approach means? Is it configurable to go back to the earlier mode of fast smooth scrolling?

How did you install Indian version (2. 37.720. 3) on top of europian version(2.36.405.5)?

Sent from my Desire HD

Well,

First I Flashed Indian 2.2.1 ROM

Then Got The Automatic Update Notification Then Updated From There. :) :)

As Simple As It Sounds. :)

yup the 2.37.720.3 does increase the brightness a bit and also theres no wifi issues but the saturated color thing was available with the 2.2.1 update also.

@aguntuk.. the scrolling feels slow coz it only scrolls one screen at a time which has 16 apps per screen. personally its not a biggy and i actually find this a better thing as it makes locating the app easier especially if you have 100s of them.

AFAIK theres now way to disable this scrolling pattern unless you take the root way.

BTW do install the stock android 2.3 keyboard from the market place, its way way way better than the sense keyboard

^ Wasn't aware of the stock's availability in the market. Will check it out. Thanks :)

Reg. the new menu, I actually think it is a pain when there are lots of apps. Some of my apps start with Rs and Ss. I have to like scroll down a lot to reach there. Only workaround I have so far is to switch to the list mode.
