I saw some promo going on at Flipkart for Ryzen 5 5600x. "Lowest price since launch" was highlighted. I wanted to upgrade from my Ryzen 5 3500 since a while. So I proceed to order it. They promptly delivered within two days. I usually take video of unboxing for expensive items bought online.. This is primarily to see there is no damage to the contents and the seal is unbroken. I had taken video of this too. The seal was indeed intact. This is where things get interesting.

Through the window, I could see not only the surface of cpu was badly scratched but its altogether a different cpu, Ryzen 3600. The seal cum label on both the sides of the box clearly say it is 5600x.

The box is still with me, with serial no matching with the invoice, with seal on the box intact.

Now I had made several complaints to FK through app and calls. I had tough time explaining them that it is not a case of wrong product delivered but a scam... As you know the standards of Flipkart customer support, they casually closed all issues opened by me and rejected the return. Horrendous! Shocked to see they don't even make a genuine attempt to understand the gravity of the case.

I had tagged AMD india and sent DM also, but they didn't care to respond. AMD india customer care no. nobody answers,..

I have posted the video link below, pls check and help me to retweet and make this viral so that they know Indians cannot be taken for a ride as they think they can.

I will be filing a case in consumer court after sending them a written notice. But this needs to be made known to as many consumers as possible so that they know buying such items from Flipkart is a really BAD idea. They can not only scam you, but totally disregard your complaint.

Was skeptical of flipkart ever since a return experience with myntra. They were very shady ( right from packing to customer care). Seems the protocol is the same with flipkart

Retweeted and liked the tweet. Request other members to do same.

Follow similar complaints against flipkart in Twitter. Try commenting on them wherever possible. Usually these guys will become active by next sale season on Twitter and may solve the issue. For me it was Myntra Diwali sale.

Just a note that back in 2015 I had ordered a core i5 6500 from Amazon fulfilled seller and received a Pentium.

I don't remember whether the package was sealed or not and I hadn't made an unboxing video but amazon replaced it with correct item no questions asked.

In general over the years whenever I had an issue large or small which was rare anyway, amazon always resolved it quickly and with no questions asked... Maybe just sometimes asking for pics

I have had similar experiences with flipkart and ebay ages ago

Unfortunately it seems the current flipkart is using the old brand name to do unethical business.

@op …did fk make any excuses while closing the issue

I don't understand how can they reject the return when the box is still sealed and one can still see that the product inside the box is not the same as what is written on the box.

I recently ordered quantity 2 of a shampoo, they sent only 1. Now wasting my time explaining Flipkart customer care that package is intact but seller screwed up.

Few months back I ordered a pixel 4a that was defective cosmetically, had to wait patiently for 5 days without a response but they replaced it.

The 3600 is fake too. This has happened a lot on Amazon as well it's not unique to flipkart. Although returns are much hassle-free with Amazon.
Should've checked the seller and rating/feedback. These are usually new sellers trying to make a quick buck by luring gullible customers in the name of "lowest price" to show their listing on top.

Write to flipkart escalation email id, initiate chargeback if it is a credit card and file a complaint on National Consumer Helpline. Usually, this gets things done for nearly all retailer complaints.

Don't bother with the first line customer service from any site since those people are clueless and are trained to pushback. Case in point, Amazon chat is a complete waste of time for any non-standard actions invoving returns and refunds.

Even the 3600 looks fake. If you have paid via credit card, call or mail your card co and raise dispute.
I doubt bank will help, esp against a seller like Flipkart. If I say FK scammed me, they won't be believing me either. Yes 3600 also looks fake. Different text, oversized QR code.

They simply said item was delivered 'intact' hence return request is rejected. Check screenshot attached

During complaint calls they did say they have escalated to 'highest authority'. But may be even he/she might be thinking I am playing a trick. Is there an escalation email id? Will try the helpline, thanks.
Who was the seller?
I checked seller ratings it was decent don't remember the exact name now. But after complaint, I noticed the seller name seem to have changed in the listing.

Thanks everyone pls spread the word, tag @AMDIndia and @flipkartsupport in your retweets!

I found the seller
And also a promo video of the seller made by Flipkart itself. Old one but still. Now you guys can tell me if FK is a part of the scam or not.

I had to return a 4tb HDD, Twice. Both times it was a fraud, a 500gb dead drive was included in the first shipment to me. Second time again tampered, I didn't open it and sent screenshots to Flipkart via DM. After a lot of hassle, I got the money back. Seller had a name sounding like corseka. You figure out why my review never got posted.

The escalation ID is escalations@flipkart.com and also simultaneously raise a complaint on the NCH website. If it is a genuine issue backed by proof, it always gets resolved.

If NCH does not receive a proper response, then they request you to file a complaint with Consumer Affairs website using the NCH ID.

There are a lot of mechanisms in place, so use those first before losing heart.

I avoid Flipkart when possible. Bought a Haier washing machine from them that went boom during the demo by the service engineer. Took around 2months to get a refund even after Haier approved replacement two times. Amazon is much better in this regard (IMO). 5600x is the most scammed CPU on the marketplace. I was looking to buy it during the festival season last year. Even on Amazon, the price used to be under 20k when it was 24k or higher everywhere else. I used to check the age and ratings of the seller and move on. Ended up buying the CPU offline from Delta.
FK's L1 support is the most useless entity in existence. They will always start asking for details from the very beginning.
As others suggested, FK started taking my refund seriously only after I raised the consumer helpline complaint. Expecting a brand to fix the problem will rarely work as they will just ask did you buy it from an authorized reseller. You can start tagging Walmart and their honchos in your tweet to FK.

Had a pathetic experience with FK a couple of months ago, although the value of the transaction was small. I opted for a Sony Liv subscription using their FK supercoins, and balance paid via UPI. The supercoin balance became zero, balance cash of Rs.500 odd was debited, but never received a code. FK website did not show the subscription order anywhere in the "My orders" page. The supercoin page showed the coins as having been used for the subscription though. Contacting the customer care was a pain, and after about a dozen attempts repeating the same issue to multiple persons, I finally quit and decided to never use FK again unless I cannot find the product elsewhere.
