Yeah this is nice.... Audigy2 value is not available in india btw.

My dealer said that he has a CREATIVE 7.1 channel solution with him costing 5.5K. I took it to mean a Audigy 2 VALUE. Do you think it is some other model?

not audigy2 value it is audigy2 zs

1 more thing if you are getting ati x1800 card then why you want DFI LP NF4 SLI-DR?
ati crossfire motherboard better na?

hey.........

actually i want a DFI mobo......... cuz that way i will be able to extract max performance from my components which will with me tilll my financing ends... i.e. 24 months.

+ i do not plan to either have crossfire or SLI. hence it does not matter..... if i can get a DFI mobo with crossfire then its fine........... but i want all the features available in the SLI-DR.

any ideas?

Like i said Kido, SLi and Crossfire is a waste. Unless you get a proccessor to keep up with the Two cards. Which is not likely for another 6 months atleast.

Im eagerly waiting for Intels Conroe and Yonah Cores and AMD's new Dual Cores 5000+ and above. Thats when i will upgrade.

I think dfi motherboard with ati crossfrire will also be good and will overclock very well. you should wait for 2-3 weeks and then buy a motherboard and card.

Actually weather you consider going SLI or not but crossfire is one hell of a board according to AT... Better then nForce 4 Ultra/SLI in terms of overclocking... Also very very stable... DFI will only refine it more... So i beleive it worth going in for a crossfire board if not for dual cards then for sheer overclocking performance.... The final decision ofcourse depends on the pricing but overall ATI platfrm is more solid then the nForce platform as of now...

Well it seems that the DFI crossfire boards are arriving in the first shipment to India. So expect to know more about them very soon. Not sure if its Oskar Wu designed or the default Halibut though.... there are supposed to be two versions of the board. Expect the Oscar Wu one to overclock better.
