Exactly why I said only members with 500+ posts should be able to vote

there is no identity for any vote to be counted, people might just create zillions of accounts and ridicule the whole election.

How is this proposition ? -
Only the long standing global moderators, who are more the founders here, should be in the elite panel and don't have to stand for elections. IMO all the section mods should be elected. Only members with 1000+ posts should be able to apply and only members with 500+ should be able to vote.
If I am right, there were some elections introduced in FE that decided selection of staff/manager.

You are a long standing member, and hence have the right to play an active role in the future of TE.
As for your suggestion of giving people the power to vote simply on the basis of post count is downright ridiculous. I joined in April of this year and have 285 posts (including this one), whereas I know members who joined in the same month and have over 500 posts, some over 800 even. I am not saying that I have been lying low, or that the others have been spamming. What I am saying is, that people who have been a part of TE far longer than me and a lot of other members, people who have seen TE being born, who have seen TE learning to walk, and who have seen TE turning out to be the great sprinter, they should be the ones to have any say in the management and future of TE. Post count is subjective, but long standing membership, and more importantly a good reputation are better measures of a member.
I hope nothing like this comes to pass here at TE, but if it does, then I pray that only stable minded people are involved from beginning to end.

Sorry, Did I offend you?
In any case, I already agreed that reputation should be more of the deciding factor. Look above
