yeah the D-14 and the Eclipse II are similar in performance & i am also getting 40-43 C at idle at stock speeds. But my ambients are quite high ~34-35 C and also I am using a crappy TIM so with a better TIM i expect my temps to drop by another 5-6 C. You should try reseating the HSF & spreading the TIM as suggested by asingh, may be that will help. In my case since i have got a DT cooler i got the best results by applying slightly more than the usual amt on a vertical line at two heatpipes on the base of the cooler. This gave me the best possible contact.

sorry this at 4.5 ghz.i see no defference on stock temp either at 3.4 ghz or 4.5ghz.because of intel new power saving mode

on load its defferent story though.with air conditioner on temp can come down upto 33-36 on my cpu.even my ambient room temp should be same.but i have haf-x

also about thermal paste.iam using one i got with noctua-d14.

should i change it?also it would be better if there is somekind of video :\

Even I am doubting the NHT1 for some reason. I reseated my HSF 2x (so used the tube 3x) and am really not happy with the cooling. This time round -- for summer clean up am going to try out a new TIM. If you can manage try a new better one, and let us know here.

guys just reseated my HSF after using tx-3 TIM. my idle temps at stock dropped by a couple of Cs, no change in load temps, but the best part is now @ 4.2 ghz my load temps max out around 67-69 C :D. I think after a couple of days the temps will improve as the TIM would have cured by then. Previously @ 4.2 Ghz i was getting 75-76 C so its a big improvement.

hmm

i still think its on higher side.

for me its around 60 @ 4.5ghz with air conditioner

it can go upto 65-67 on hot afternoon.

i am not using an ac..cant afford one :P , my room's kinda toasty at 34-36 C so i guess the temps are ok. If i am able to get an ac and drop my ambients to around 23-24 i can also expect to max out around 60-61 at 4.5. moreover unlike you babloos the NZXT Tempest EVO is the poor man's poor substitute of an HAF-X :D

I am at 1.24 vcore

--- Updated Post - Automerged ---

guys was playing crysis 2 @ 4.2 ghz 1.2 vcore and my temps never exceeded 61-63 C C

UPDATE: reapplied MX-2 and reseated HSF. Now under prime at stock speeds and voltages I max out at 54 C on the hottest core. Ambient is 28 C. At 4.5 with 1.304v the hottest core maxes out under prime 95 at 67 C. Are these temps fine?
