Hello
I have a RIIE and a UD5 and i can very easily say this...
The RIIE is the better board. Build quality on the RIIE is in a different league..
Much tighter Power regulation.. Not half as much Vdroop. and When you enter a value in the bios.. it stays that way!!
For example the UD5 i need to key in 1.33V in the bios just to get 1.29V real in cpu-z .
this is amongst a lot of other things.
None of this from the RIIE
Also im in love with the bios on the RIIE. Displays all the important info in 1 page. Truly one of the best implementations of a bios i have seen in a very long time.
The UD5 dosent have half the sensors that the RIIE has. No NB/SB temp sensors in the UD5.. whats up with that ??
There are loads and loads of differences and not all of them are cosmetic...
Id pay the extra just for all the monitoring and the bios... but thats just me..
But under 20 K the Ud5 is really hard to beat... Its a amazing board for the money and perhaps only bettered by the DFI in the same price range.
Also do have a look at the Asus workstation boards too.. The P6tws and p6t7 if possible as well as the Evga Classified.
Just my 0.02$
cheers sir
