Brendon in case u have any plans of giving away ur meir corda.I will take it only if u give it for phreee :P.Even i am planning for a T3D ;)
 
Hey Techhead , once you get the D3 mamba let me know .I will be getting the HiFiMan EF2A USB DAC + tube amp in 2-3 days , would like to compare it with the D4 since both are from the same price range and I plan to get a D4 as well :)
 
D4 dude, not a D3 :P

Listening to TDK soundtrack over the Xonar to my HD555s.. it's overwhelming the headphones on "Why So Serious".. hope the D4 does better!
 
^ oops sorry mate:ashamed: Was too excited about the EF2A and I typed D3 instead of D4. Don't worry,going by so many positive feedbacks and reviews on head-fi I feel the D4 is a really great DAC.You will surely love it as i am pretty sure about one thing , it will easily supersede the XONAR.
 
^ Err.. mine is a Review sample from Head-Direct. I think you can order it online from their site for 169$ + shipping(30-40$). Ask them to pack it well ,especially the tubes and also undervalue it to prevent customs issues.

The EF2A is one of the best DAC + amp under 200$. The DAC is good but not the best ,but it's amp section is pretty close to the EF1, and better than the Ibasso D10.The DAC/ Amp can be used separately as well. Also it scales better with tube rolling. The current 169$ sale price is actually a steal.

Got it! Took 5 days to delivery, even over the Christmas weekend. Very impressed so far.
They marked it as a USB Soundcard, value 20$. No issues at all.. no duty rubbish was involved.

Er, I believe you can order it in India itself from Amarbir ? :bleh:

I feel we should have a Techenclave audio meet at Faheems house where we can all test each others audio goodies. :ohyeah:

hws going it with ef2a

i just read ur short review on head-fi about ef2a

as ef2a is bright it shud pair up gud wth re1 or not

i m not tht into amps so i might be wrong

just reading about amps nowadays
 
^It's doing well.Haven't used it a lot since I am burn-in the EF2A & RE-0/RE-252 together.

Yes they are a little bright and should be good for RE1 if you intent to use it as a desktop setup.Also the best part it is you can change the sound signature by changing the tubes.I am trying to source a few , lets see how it works out.
