n00bspeak but this is my take on the dilemna of getting the GSkill 2x2GB 4GBPI Black 800 or 900>
Non-OCer, get 800 kit and get 800 CL4 by default at low volts.
OCer, get either as even 800 kit does 900 easily iirc and for not much higher than 1.9v iirc.
But that's not a guarantee always, esp for CL4.0.
So 800 kit if you are sure to do only 400fsb 1:1 max and 800/900 kit if you want to do 450fsb 1:1; at CL4 i.e..
I ma more comfortable with the 900 kit as it's rated for the same and i don't feel guilty of punishing it and also costs the same.
If you say temps maybe higher, i use some fan/dominator on my RAM sticks anyways, even if at stock.
Imho, lower temps always help, even if at stock.
Those who want to do 500fsb 1:1 24x7 at CL4.0 already know or have what they want imho. :hap2:
I just spoke something i had on my mind for quite sometime over the same dilemna of getting 800/900.
Gurus- please correct me if i am wrong and avoid others from getting misled by my assumptions. :ashamed:
